Account Locked + Can't Receive Emails :(
|
I just started playing again yesterday after years of inactivity. I missed playing a dungeon crawler so wanted to get back in.
The first issue I had was that I couldn't remember my password. I clicked the "Lost Password" button and the email never reached me. No big deal, because eventually I remembered my password. Today I went to my parents house to do some office work (work in a family owned business.) Got caught up for the day and figured I'd download the client and play for a bit while I was here. I went to log in and my account was locked just because I accessed my account from a different PC. Big mistake. Now I cannot log in to the game, period. Of course GGG is supposed to send me a code to unlock my account, but I once again did not receive the email. I clicked "Resend Email" all for good measure but never did receive the code. I've looked in Spam, Junk mail, etc. to no avail. Another bummer is the fact I'm reading that everyone is experiencing days without responses to account support issues. This means the simple mistake of trying to play the game elsewhere will likely end in me not playing for days, maybe ever since I cannot fathom waiting so long while I still enjoy playing Starcraft II on a daily basis. Is there any way I can get help? I have AT&T email so I doubt I can whitelist GGG emails or anything. I wish I could just make a gmail account for the game and have their emails sent there since I doubt I will ever be able to receive emails from support. :( Last edited by Nexus555#4214 on Aug 21, 2017, 12:37:04 PM Last bumped on Aug 22, 2017, 11:13:00 AM

Grab a yahoo or gmail account. Send them an email from there. Make sure and include as much info as you can, char names, account name, any purchases you might have made, dates, etc etc.
GGG never handles anything account related via the forums. "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning."

" I tried emailing them but figured I'd post on the forums as well. If I'm not receiving their auto emails for unlock codes I doubt I can receive their response. Hoping this is fixed soon. On a side note, having an option to opt out of this account security feature would be very nice. Just looking through this forum has shown me it's a huge problem and consumes a lot of their time dealing with this issue. |

Support is seriously swamped, as 3.0 introduced quite a lot of technical issues. You really just need to be patient, they do always answer in the end.
That said, I can also only play about one day in three, because my dynamic IP changes every 24 hrs and I wait about a day or two for the manual unlock mail each time. I really hope the tech guys are working on this, am getting quite frustrated and have started looking for a different game to play... May your maps be bountiful, exile

" I understand the backlog, but they should really consider allowing people to opt out of this security feature if the user accepts the risks associated with it. |

And you can opt out of the verification code. As long as you are more than well enough aware of the risks involved.

" How? I've looked at all the settings, but can't find anything except for some weird "bump key", which is too long to be used as an unlock key... May your maps be bountiful, exile

" I have the same problem. I could not play for 3 days in August 2017. Due no unlock e-mail was send. 1) Quick one GGG unlock's your account. Only password required. 2) They supply a master key for your account if it happens. Safest according to me. They always send me unlock code. Even when i try the next day, still get message unlock code send? Which ever has less programming involved. |

" When you email support, you can ask them to turn it off. It isn't a setting you can do yourself, for obvious reasons.
