The real problem I have is that traps, and other things like terrain bonuses (high vs. low terrain), clever placements and skillful play COULD actually matter and be a fun experience to execute, but in practice they are just meaningless, because you could instead go Tornado Shot or Ice Shot or Kinetic Blast and explode the entire screen.
Which is sad, because traps and mines could offer a really different experience, and reward skillful play, if the rest of the game was not that fast. But yes, I see that the game is moving into the "faster, faster" direction. I just refuse to think that is a good thing. Because I think it is not. Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.

I believe build diversity is the core of PoE but build diversity is narrowing. More loot and exp should be provided from killing rare and unique monsters and less loot and exp from killing normal and magic monsters. At least, if a monster have 100 times life than it's normal counterpart or similar normal monster, the value of loot and exp should also be 100 times. Cooldown from traps is okay as long as game mechanism is changed. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
