Beginner build advices?

Hey guys

I'm starting PoE, first time ever played. I chose templar without knowing anything about any chars, it just seemed fun.

I read and searched through the build compilation post but I don't find any full beginner advised build/recommendation. Do we just do with the gems we find on the way? I have no idea what I'm doing, questing and using gems I find among the way but nothing really mastered.

Any tip, beginner guide I missed or recommendation?

try to find a budget/cheap build that you like on the forum and go with that. If you try to wing your first character, you will probably mess it up, but at least you will learn the ropes a bit. Welcome to the game.
