Unique Drops What is true now?!
Wikipedia says this: ..... Random Drops - Unique items can be found as random drops just the same as any other item. Normal monsters drop items with an /itemlevel equal to the zone level, Magic monsters drop items with /itemlevel at zone level +1, Rare/Unique monsters drop items with /itemlevel at zone level +2.
For example: If a unique item requires lvl 50 to equip that means it can be dropped by Normal/Magic/Rare/Unique monsters in lvl 50 zones, dropped by Magic/Rare/Unique monsters in lvl 49 zones, and dropped by Rare/Unique monsters in lvl 48 zones......" http://en.pathofexilewiki.com/wiki/Unique_Items But ppl say they found Uniques lvl 10-20 in lvl 60+ Areas??? so what is true now, or did i just missunderstood something?! |

A level 1 unique can be dropped by monsters from level 1 to level infinity. Monster levels sets an UPPER bound on unique level, but the LOWER bound is 1.

If a unique is required level 50, then it can only be found off of lvl 50 mobs or higher. This does not exclude level 10 items dropping as well. I have recently found a level 17 unique item in a level 58 area. Now if I were to have found that same item in a level 30 area, it would not be the same itemlevel. Right now my unique is level 53, even though it is only needed to be level 17 to wear it.
BTW...if I had found it at level 25 or so, it wouldnt even be able to get 4 sockets. so it means a lvl 17 Unique can be dropped in lvl 17-100 areas and a lvl 32 unique can be dropped in a lvl 32-100 area?

The drop rate of uniques is pathetically low even with over 200% rarity and plenty of quantity...

" Yes. As long as the uniques required level is met, you can see it dropped. The higher the area, the higher the item level. 'It is good to contact a moderator if you feel someone is being a twat' Charan, Forum Moderator

" Yes, the monster level only effects the upper range of the item level loot that can drop, but the low end will always be level 1. I've seen the smallest possible hp/mana flasks, the kind you start out with, drop in Cruel (and I'm sure beyond, but that's the furthest I've got). Keep in mind that these lower level items, would have a higher item level if dropped of a high level mob. Item level affects the mods it can roll, and the number of sockets. |

" Are you sure? My fuzzy memory is saying something different about an item that dropped for me. |

" The same rules applied to the diablo series. Though they changed them in the last difficulty in D3, it still works in D2. I have beaten Baal in Hell and gotten a Sigon Shield drop. Seriously. I beat one of the last bosses in the game, and got a level 12 set item? Well...that works here. I'm in level 60 areas now, and I still see level 5 items drop all the time. " Sorry, should have been more clear, the part about it being a higher iLVL because it dropped in a higher zone and impacting amount of sockets possible. (not the part about it still being part of the loot table). |
