Stash Tab Improved UI

The current stash tab only shows 10 tabs and the rest in the drop down arrow.
When a player has so many tabs, it is often very frustrating and inconvenient when browsing through them all.

I always thought that after so many years, GGG could do better and be smarter in that sense, therefore I made my own proposed UI (using Microsoft Paint).

The current UI

My proposed improved UI

If you have more than 10 tabs, instead of having to click the arrows to show more, having 2 or 3 rows showing at the same time will show more tabs without the need to click the arrows.

I was just about to come and post the same exact type of picture for the very same reason!

I use the premium tabs, and rename them. Usually with something as short as possible 3-4 characters or so. And I still cannot fit my 'commonly used' tabs in the front. So I wind up always using the itty bitty tiny little button over there.

It was a decent fix for having so many tabs.

However, you could fix multiple problems at once just by giving us 2-3 rows.

Make the top row special tabs only. IE Currency, Fragments, Essences, Maps, Divination Cards plus any extra specials you might have in the future. No option to extend beyond to the right on this top row.

Bottom row, just like it is now. Able to extend with the little button on the right, for a drop down menu, showing only the tabs on that row.

And if you chose to add in a row in the middle that's all good too! One row could be for base tabs, and one for upgraded tabs.

Plenty of people also complain about finding and moving special tabs to the front in new leagues. All specials being forced to the top row would help alleviate some of the tab concerns in new league.

Also, there was a suggestion in these forums, for anything which can go into a special tab, which could be on that first row to be automatically placed in the special tab. Anything in your inventory when ctl clicked, like currency, divination cards or maps - always go to their proper respective tab, unless it is full. I like this idea as well.

Anything clicked which won't fit in a special tab on top row, or anything which does not qualify, can go to the first tab with space in the second row. It is where I usually put my loot dump tab when mapping, and I assume most others do the same.

I have my tabs named to 1 letter just to be able to browse through most of them without using the list.

Of course this doesn't work when the name of the tab is e.g. "A (Remove-only tab)" which takes all the space there is. Providing a few rows of tabs won't help with that, though it would definitely help a lot if there are no legacy league tabs.

I think being able to create folders of tabs would be an even better way to deal with this. As it stands, the player needs two clicks anyway (one for the list to appear and one to choose the tab). I would prefer clicking on some set of tabs that has meaning for me, as opposed to clicking on the FULL set tabs...

This suggestion existing for years, and been suggested hundred+ times...
no idea why GGG don't like/trying to bring something similar.

Was going to post this myself, then I saw someone had already suggested it. There's even an empty tab-height space above the current tabs that's just asking to get filled with more tabs. Why not let it wrap around? Or even just have the option to lock the tab list dropdown so it's always visible when you open your stash.

Been posted as a suggestion so many times and something like this is really needed, but has never been acted on by GGG. Whether it's because it's low priority, too hard to recode for...who knows. Still, I get behind it...anything to improve antiquated UI stuff is always welcomed.
+1, definitely. :)
I took the liberty to add your suggestions to a big thread I made a few days ago. We could gather every QoL, options and features in one single thread and make something that is more visible for the studio.

Don't hesitate to ask me to remove it if it's not ok for you.
+1 on this.
