Rippling Thoughts BIS Skill

(rippling thoughts sword) ok so only attacks can proc the trigger storm cascade. and the arcane buff gives % more spell damage and the sword gives % increase spell damage. so even if i use crown of eyes, the buff is still not converted and obsolete. so what sort of build would be best. i think crown of eyes is still needed but im unsure on how to trigger the cascade and make use of the buff fully. is there any items and interactions i have not thought of to help with this.
any help appreciated.
thanks

static strike dualwield rippling nerfs into lightning pen spelldmg nodes lighting nodes high aps. not rocketscience.
that hasnt solved anything pal. as the % more from the buff even with crown of eyes is still obsolete in your suggestion. unless you thought the discharge from static strike was dealt as spell damage, but im afraid to say that is not the case it is dealt as "melee attack damage".
appreciate the effort tho.
thanks

would be nice to know the info on storm cascade too, i,e, numbers and level scaling. i guess its similar to glacial cascade?

Simple answer: Blade Flurry in a Cast while channeling setup combined with the new shield
I'd say lightning strike, as it will let you keep your distace and deals lightning damage. Also the buff is never wasted, the cascade gets the full buff and that's what it's for. The skill itself is glacial cascade pretty much, but with lightning conversion. Recommended supports: phys to lightning, lightning pen, controlled destruction, innervate and elemental focus. The first one is pretty much a must, from the others you can choose two to your liking.
Wrath and herald of thunder are recommended.
As for helmet, I'd go as far as to say screw crown of eyes, go for the least used pale council item, mind of the council. Solves any mana problems, helps a bit against reflect and gives increased shock chance. Another option is ylfeban's trickery, simply for the added lightning damage.
I make dumb builds, therefore I am.
holy cow how did i not think about the buff just being for the trigger skill. thanks for the input guys has helped a lot. this is why i love this forum, people are actually helpful unlike most other games.
cheers

Personally I think inquisitor can really benefit from the cascade.

Positioning on tree allows for crit/spell crit/melee crit... just crit everywhere lol.

Also the Instruments of virtue node for inquis might create some interesting interactions.

I'm using one right now in my cycloner lol. Super fun.

One thing I am unclear of is whether if you dual weild do you get two different procs of the sword that trigger at the same time? The skills on both swords share one cooldown?

It feels like it which kinda takes away...or i'm an idiot and having two of them has no benefit at all lol.

I can't tell since the triggers happen at the same time.
do we have the ability to assume that socketed support gems will effect the lightning cascade?
