Sanctum of Innocence... err... Tiresome
OK so I know that GGG has increased the new act end bosses HP by a huge amount. But after killing the first boss form (Sin) in a reasonable amount of time (< 5 mins.) the 2nd boss (Innocence) is so op on health that this happened after about 15 minutes:
![]() I only got the boss down about 1/3 health when I died. This feels like Merc Malachai all over again and that is very bad (one good thing to report is that the arena room is nice and large... none of the way too tiny arena room shit of act 4). So the big problem is this: With elite I found the Slave Pens ok, but then The Control Blocks, Oriath Square, and Templar Courts zones of act 5 are repetitively boring. The mobs are very meh as a challenge and what one mob does to attack is the same for all the mobs. Too much repetition. The streets of Oriath look great from an artistic view (it must have taken a huge workforce to lay the stones in all the streets) but from a player isometric overhead viewpoint once you've seen one cobblestone street you've seen them all. I found myself like a rat in a maze wanting out (only there isn't even the challenge of a maze puzzle). This is extremely troublesome and concerning in that top players have already completed the 10 acts (I really should be allowed to call them The final problem with FoO for me is that playing solo I get good frame rates most of the time, then I go to the Overseer's Tower and am stuttering to death by abysmally low frame rates. I guess all the other players in OT are lagging the server simulation to hell and beyond as it has to gather all the other players character (all that mtx bling) and pet info and who knows where in the world they are or how high their latency to the WDC realm is. I haven't tried Dallas yet but I doubt it will be any better. So coming off of a great Legacy league (leaguestones were and are a great gimmick. All we needed was an on/off checkbox for each one so we don't have to remove the ls to stop using it temporarily) so far FoO is a big let down for me. I'll have to treat the act 5 zone end boss (and all others) the same way I treat Izaro and over-level by 10 before taking on Innocence again. Sigh... I though GGG was going to balance better but... oh crap... it is balanced for the top 2% of players. And yes I know this is GGG and you can troll me with "so what else did you expect?" and all but please no more "git gud or git out" bullshit replies. That's too lame to be any form of funny. signed, frustrated filthy casual ps. Frustrated for now. I'll put PoE aside for now and join in a foursome of D3 and play a Necromancer build (I've been off D3 for over 2 years playing here and if that plays butter smooth {as I expect it to} on my hardware then I'll be even more frustrated that PoE is so laggy). "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. I know this is a vent thread, but for how specced you are into traps and mines it's surprising to see you running an unlinked lightning trap. If you hit your boots with a couple of fuses you could set that up with cluster trap + added cold or something, which would make your damage output skyrocket.
With your current tree your frost blades would be barely tickling most things despite the links, but if you linked either multistrike or added fire, and put added cold or cold pen in your green socket you'd find that it would probably do decent damage also because your sword isn't bad. GMP in your flame totem is doing nothing except hampering your damage. If you're actually using the skill, you're literally better off with an unlinked totem than putting GMP on it. I found that other than the first boss of act 8 and the final boss of act 5 (which is excused because reasons) most of the bosses had acceptable health levels. I was running a 4-link summon zombies/spectres setup - hardly top of the meta but not exactly a trash build - and nothing really gave me much trouble, though the act 6 final boss killed me a couple times because I couldn't see his things. For what it's worth, I finished act 10 in 15 hours /played in four sessions of ~4 hours. Feel free to call me a no-lifer for spending my time playing POE instead of watching a couple movies. Edit: To clarify, Innocence is not the final boss of act 5. Last edited by Hemmingfish#1386 on Aug 6, 2017, 4:48:31 PM

i specced it pretty well and died a shitload of times. that boss needs a massive nerf, its boring as shit to battle something with that much hp that also regens. after act5 i really needed a break, that boss killed my will to live lol
tone it down, its retarded |

Git gud or get rekt. Try dodging his attacks.

Innocence is ridiculous. He nukes you in 5 seconds with max fire resistance.
It's a by the time you've dodged, you're already dead. Kitava is easier than him, even the Cloven one is easier than him with 34% fire resistance. Literally, this boss is doing ridiculous damage through his beam. The rest of the attacks are fine, but that beam is death. |

I agree, Act 5 is too early for a DPS/Gear check. At this point you could still be experimenting with different builds. They say they want to change the meta, then the first new boss can't really be done except by the min/maxer/meta builds.
I've played for a while so i will get over it, but boy if you are new to the game and not looking up builds etc, this is brutal. Last edited by Rolane#5600 on Aug 6, 2017, 8:33:14 PM
