Steam beta to live tonight, fastest way?
Plenty of these kinds of threads now, but this one asks the question we really wonder.
Which way would be the fastest to update the Steam version of the game to the 3.0 patch? Opting in for the beta, update it to the beta version, and revert to live after the patch is released? Or simply leave everything as it is and let it update itself when the patch comes? Note: This is primarily aimed at ggg, people with previous knowledge on the torrent updating method, steam and updating, and people with slow internet(such as myself). It would be great to know which method to go with, since a lot of us have planned to start playing the moment we are let into the server and are playing with friends who are doing the same, but might have faster connections. The torrent is not compatible with the Steam version.
Imagine the lack of introspection that would be required to spend your spare time telling people they’ve posted in the wrong section of some company's forum, only to then try accusing someone else of brown-nosing.

using the beta client doesn't save you much time if any as the art assets are being swapped (they are not in the beta client) so you'll still have gigs of assets to DL.
You would probably be quicker just patching as normal, you've got a 3 hour wait from when the servers go down until the 3.0 launch. Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

Yeah, I get that there are a lot of art not currently in the beta, but there's still quite some content in the beta that isn't in the live version. That is data/time I save on downloading, I think.
Such a choice to be made. 3 hours from patch launch to servers open, yeah, but last time one in my party started patching a bit later than the rest of us, cuz his internet was faster. He ended up sitting in login-queue for 20 minutes while we could start playing already. This is what I'm trying to avoid this time. Roses are buckets,

" The bulk of the ggpk file is art assets, anything else may amount to a gig or 2 max the assets fill the rest Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi
