3.0 Patch size ? Admins needed

Hello GGG , may I know the patch size of 3.0 as I'm using a metered connection on my mobile broadband .

Also if I can update from my beta client for lesser data usage or would everyone (even in beta) have to download a separate client

You cant use beta client, you can use the original content .ggpk and save it to your desktop and when download begins, replace the .ggpk so you then only need 5~7 GB to download. Whole thing should be around 14-16GB.

GGG sometimes puts it as a torrent file for p2p download (muuuuuuch faster) then the missing files are like 800mb-1GB.

Could you give me the steps for the torrent ? I kinda got no idea what is that . It would help so so much

If they do release a .torrent file for pre downloads it's usually 4-8 hours before release, get utorrent and download the whole file, it's basically a big installer file so most is downloaded and you need some small files to really complete, otherwise the client tells the whole file to download which is much bigger.
Search for utorrent download it's like 5-20 mb in size, don't remember.

With utorrent you can open the .torrent file which then lets you get the content from other players, so the more players have data, the faster it goes.

TLDR; p2p makes lets say a TB file split in parts so you only need to download parts from other users and the program puts the file back to that TB.
So one player doesn't get overloaded, but all users a little. While downloading you upload tittybits to others to contribute.

FYI Bex stated on reddit that they are replacing the art assets for the patch so it's going to be big.
And apparently it's the same deal with the beta client if you were considering using it to patch to.

There's so much wrong in this statement relative to how poe is updated, I don't even know where to start.
For one, new ggpk will be different from old ggpk so if you try to put one as "incomplete dl" torrent program will say "f*ck you kind sir but that's not the file I'm supposed to download 'cause checksums don't match". To dl and apply only differences you'll need game installer. Torrent will dl full ggpk, in all its 0+gb glory.

To reiterate:
-if you choose using torrent, you WILL download FULL ggpk, which is 10gb+, because that's how torrents work. The only reason to use torrent is higher dl speed because you won'r be relying on ggg's cdn.
-if you use steam, you WILL dl full ggpk because thats how steam works. The only reason to use steam is, well, if that's you preferred platform, I guess.
-If you want to dl less, your best bet is to use standalone launcher, it will only update files that really changed. How much it will be? I fear noone can say at this point.
