3.0 brutus' lead sprinkler nerf, please explain

So someone said the change to the lead sprinker (attacks, to attacks with this weapon), is a nerf. I'm not entirely sure how? Does the change in wording mean that molten strike fiery balls won't benefit from it and just the initial hit with the weapon?

It's a buff, not a nerf. You lose a tiny amount of base damage compared to old dual wielding (4–8 > 4–7) but being able to use a different off-hander or shield more than makes up for this.

Whoever said it was a nerf is just mistaken.

So they don't stack anymore for skills like molten strike then?
They don't stack when dual wielding, right.

Thanks for the response. So basically, you can still dual wield legacy ones, but whats the point when a new one will be almost as effective with the survivability of a shield
