Notes from Turmoil lvl 100 (#3 Raider)

This was my first attempt at 100, so I wanted to share a few thoughts. I needed a break from Legacy, so Turmoil was a nice change of pace. I played Mayhem casually for about a week and wasn’t sure what to expect out of this “watered-down race”. I was pleasantly surprised.

I decided to give HoWA a shot before 3.0 changes and was happy with the clear speed. Finished #3 Raider and #39 overall. Would have been substantially faster if I took the racing approach more serious early on. Had to take a couple of days off as I just graduated with a PhD. I ended up catching the raider ahead of me about 2 hours before hitting 100. Died 3 times after level 97 (internet disconnect at lvl 98 and 99.5, and 1 to beyond corpse exploding an entire room). I played everything solo after lvl 80…#NerfNecroSupport.

Notes
- Dropped ~15 exalts, ~20 divines, 2-3 T1 uniques
- Chayula spawned once
- Forced me to learn mapping efficiency (e.g., rolling maps in bulk)
- Currency accrues pretty quickly when mapping aggressively
- Maintained map pool of shaped strands/dunes without chiseling or sextants
- Trading was rough at times (did anybody run uber lab for enchants?)
- Hourly mod rotations was nice, made me want to toggle through a few maps
- Was never really scared, which differed than some Mayhem encounters
- Bloodlines, Breach, and Beyond seemed to give the best xp/hr
- Learned how useful 3rd-party programs/sites are (e.g., poe-racing.com, trade macros)
- You do not have to clear maps completely (leave packs that would require back tracking)
- Should not have wasted time farming perandus or chancing belts
- Should not have shaped several maps (atoll, mud geyser, quay, and reef)
- Should have turned off trading tabs in Legacy earlier
- Should have stopped making small trades earlier
- Should have stopped picking up small currency earlier
- Should have made or found a better loot filter (though Neversink’s Uber strict worked)
- Should have figured out a long music playlist before starting

New Notes
- No untainted paradises
- ~7.5 days played

How much total liquid wealth did you accumulate? How many hours did you put into that level 100 char?

Dying at 99 must have been extremely frustrating, lol. Congrats on the 100!

Probably one of my worst experiences in PoE. Almost broke my desk haha.

Liquid currency, hard to say. Probably in the neighborhood of 70ex. Accumulated almost all in about 3-4 day span. I stopped trading about 3 days before hitting 100. Had tons of cards to turn in and slammed several rares hoping to hit.
