[question] charged dash mechanics

can we please get a reply from GGG?
- will that work with bows/wands?
- will that work with ranged attack totems?
(i really wish it would)
- also mechanic question: is it count as if we were in all the places in the middle of the dash (the places that hit)? or just went from point a to end of point b?

according to datamined info, its a generic attack tag, so Im fairly sure it should work with wands and bows.

'Fortify' requires a melee tag. Melee tags are incompatible with wands. So either Charged Dash is compatible with wands but not Fortify, or Fortify but not wands. or, as Raics said, it's compatible with both but only with appropriate tags/weapons (Fortfy w/melee, not Fortify w/wands).

Besides. You can use a shield with wands, can't you? Loses a bit of deepz, but dual-wielding has never seemed critical for most wand builds I've seen. Maybe. I dunno.

Regardless, I'm still theorycrafting the hell out of a Hyaon's Fury Charged Dash Raider. Because balls first is the only way to go first.

Best guess? The totem does what totems usually do and acts as a proxy for your skill. DP sacrifices either Skeleton life or "Your" life - cast it with a totem and I figure it'll do one of those two things still. Other 'Your life' options such as MPoFL take the player's life into account, not the totem's.

Doubtful. I mean I suppose it could, but going on the MDoFL comparison which is the closest we have to an analogous situation, I'm going to guess that Spell Totem > Dark Pact still pulls from either skeletons' lives or you-the-player's life.

Goddamn awesomely, that's how. VSS is already one of my favorite Vaal skills simply because of the sheer spectacle. Now it can also be a giant smorgasbord of Dark Pact food!

...I may have to make a Dark Pact guy as my league starter now. Goddamnit game.

I'm...gonna assume poorly. Everything else that 'removes life' - namely Caustic flasks and Blood Magic - is a very poor idea with CI. Dark pact can theoretically work with CI if you never even once misclick and cast a DP without skeletons to absorb it for you...but frankly that sounds like the sort of thing one would call "not hardcore viable".

Why? They never have before. Besides, it won't be but a couple of days post-patch before we all figure it out anyways, and that's half the fun!
