blade flurry dps on wiki

http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Blade_Flurry

the wiki says the actual dps is calculated with -

Base*1.6*2*(1+0.75*Stage)

or

.564*1.6*2*(1+0.75*1.2)

which equals 343% weapon damage with perfect casting.

my question is, where is the 0.75 coming from?

EDIT: if i was to calc it myself i would do -

base*more attack speed*stage(final is 120% more)*return blades

which is simply .564*1.6*2.2*2

I believe that it has to do with the fact that, while the last 1 channeling hit and all of the "bonus" hits on release benefit from the stage bonus, the earlier hits do not. It also (I guess) discounts the attack speed mod for the last (or first?) and bonus hits.

e.g. for a 3-stage run:

1st attack: .564*1.6*1.2=1.08288
2nd attack: .564*1.6*1.4=1.26336
3rd attack: .564*1.6*1.6=1.44384
4th attack: .564*1.8=1.62432
bonus attacks: 3*.564*1.8=3*1.62432

Total=5.95584
VS Expected Total from Base*1.6*2*(1+0.75*Stage)=5.8656

This appears to be within rounding error, and stays as such if you calculate it for 3 stages or 5 stages as well.

Or maybe I'm totally off-base.

I'm the one who put the formula on wiki, I may go into more detail later, but it is 0.75 essentially because all the return strikes get full stage bonus but channeling strikes ramp up linearly, hence average is 1/2 of channeling, so you basically get 1.5/2 of full stage bonus

tsftd: no attack speed adjustment is necessary, you just calculated 4 channeling strikes and 3 return strikes when actually it is 4 channeling strikes and 4 return strikes

You can't do that because strikes 1 through 5 don't get the full 120% more bonus; they get 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, and 120, which, actually, thanks for pointing this out; I was assuming average 60% bonus, when it should actually probably average 70% based on when stage bonus starts stacking (if first strike gets 20%, then average would be 70%.). 60% would actually be if it took 7 strikes to get to stage 6, but it doesn't go up to 7 stages....

However, if in fact first strike gets no bonus, that would imply stage bonus can only stack 5 times, meaning 50% would be used in place of 70% (i.e. 100% more would be the maximum bonus, not 120% more.)

That covers the ramp up strikes, then the return strikes get the full 120% bonus, so with my incorrect 60% estimate, averages out to 90%, or 120% * 0.75

I will need to dig up the old Reave vs Blade Flurry dps test to see if 50%/100%ight fit the data better than 60%/120%

In my calculation, if the first hit don't get the 20% more bonus, the DPS should be:
(1 + 1.2 + 1.4 + 1.6 + 1.8 + 2 + 2.2 * 6) / 7 * .564 * 1.6
= 2.86 times of the weapon DPS (cor. to 2 d.p.)

"+ 2.2" is not included in the brackets as we have already got 6 stages after the first 6 hits. We can release the skill to have the additional strike with 120% more damage in order to get the highest DPS, rather than keeping channelling to have a 120% more damage hit.

It is over 7 but not 6 after the brackets as the additional strike will also consume the time as same as that of having 1 hit.
