Death's Door Boots - bleeding to death while wearing them
Furnace traps, as found in the Trial of Burning Rage and in the Labyrinth, deal burning damage but are not burning ground. It seems glaringly obvious to me that they are two very different things.
Endless Sting sentinel traps in the Labyrinth and uber Trials cause bleeding which is blocked by Death's Door, but they also cause direct damage that is not blocked by Death's Door. So, while you are not completely unscathed by those traps, Death's Door considerably reduces the difficulty of those traps. According to the wiki, "Spike traps shoot out of the ground in a square area, either via a timer or when its pressure plate is stepped on, taking 1/4 of the player's effective hitpoints (including life pool and energy shield pool), apply bleeding, and locking them in place." Death's Door prevents only the bleeding portion of the trap, again considerably reducing the difficulty of those traps. I wear Death's Door and its effectiveness with spike traps is very noticeable. I can now run through long spike traps and get spiked multiple times and still make it through without using a potion, where that was impossible without Death's Door. Globes of bleeding damage that are spit out by various monsters, including Malachai and that one kind of Essence monster, may or may not do some direct damage in addition to the bleeding (I haven't really noticed) but, again, Death's Door makes those encounters so much easier, there's just no question about it. |
