making use of gem experience (vendor recipe)

sell the same gem to get back that same gem with the 20% xp of the lowest level gem added to the higher level gems total xp.

sell a 6 of the same gem at the same level to gain 1 gem level.

cannot exceed 20 using this method.

reasoning. it's agonizing to get gems to 20.

instead of using your weapon swaps for versatility, this would allow players to level 6 copies of their main skill up simultaneously to get from 19 to 20 more easily. but it would only be the main gem, all the auras, supports, and assistance gems would still be leveled up more slowly.

and mass buying them from vendors or other players would have absurdly diminished usefulness, since a level 18 gem has half the xp of a level 19 gem, and that would be further cut down by 1/5th (it would take 12.5 level 18 gems to get from 19 to 20).


note: if the any of the lower level gems have quality on them, that quality will be lost.

edit: if you want to use any corrupted gems, they all must be corrupted, and the result will also be corrupted, but still can't exceed gem level 20, or change quality.

I'm against it but if they would do such thing:

if any of the gems is corrupted the result is corrupted too OR
you can't use corrupted gems with that OR
you can use corrupted gems but only with other corrupted ones

i will clarify in the original post but; my intention was, if you want to use any corrupted gems, they all must be corrupted, and the result will also be corrupted, but still can't exceed 20, or change quality.

this is basically meant to be another choice of "do you level up other gems you want to use, or only level up your primary gem" and having to burn 5 additional vaal orbs, without making the vaal version, just to make up for a vaal de-leveling of your gem, seems acceptable to me.
