i7-7700k Integrated Graphics and POE
Hey guys- building a new compy.. sold my old 7950.. i am without dedicated graphics, for now... will i be able to use the integrated graphics with this new CPU?
its the 630; i am hoping, if i kill all the shadows, and lower res etc, if i can use this to play. Apparently, with some popular games, they can get 30-50 fps on 720 p. I mean, that sucks compared to where I was BUT I can deal but POE isnt as... optimized as other games so I am a little uncertain. I am going through withdrawl- bad. Will have new comp on Wednesday but need to save up a bit more for a 1070 (end of july) Intel - Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor NZXT - Kraken X52 Liquid CPU Cooler Asus - MAXIMUS IX HERO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory Samsung - 850 Pro Series 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Corsair - Crystal 460X RGB ATX Mid Tower Case EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply HALP!! I guess, I could just try on Wednesday when I build :p POE is life. POE is ♥. Last edited by KonaLuvsPOE#3058 on Jun 12, 2017, 6:15:09 PM Last bumped on Jun 15, 2017, 12:29:19 PM

Why don't you just try it? Would've been faster than asking here and waiting an eternity for a reply. Brotip: The game runs on Ivy Core iX 3xxx Intel HD4000 IGPs which are over 5 years old.
And what do you need a new PC for? Well, I am sure it will run just fine even if you have to tremendously lower your settings. Source: I have a 3120M with an integrated Intel hd4000. Last edited by BlueMonday#4491 on Jun 13, 2017, 3:10:02 AM

It will work more or less. Considering you got dual channel ram setup you should get 40ish on 720p or slightly less in most situations with nasty 20fps drops in extreme situations.

Ok so I ran a test about this.
I get 20-40FPS in town or hideout. But.... I ran a random map with no mods [ Bazaar ] and I'm getting a wooping 60-80fps in midfights and another wooping of 110 in relatively empty areas. I have to say unlike you I'm running off a single channel of 8GB DDR4 with i5-7300HQ I ran another map [ Crematorium ] with our CPU/GPU friendy effects of Shocking Grounds and get 80 FPS in empty area [ start of map ] with drops to 30-40 fps randomly when traveling. Haven't tried any breaches or anything like that but I expect nasty drops with it. Now considering you got dualchannel you should be able to get a 20-30% increase in performance. All my settings were low or disabled [ shadows / post processing ] textures medium and ran the game in windowed mode at 1280x720 on DX9EX. For some reason it crashes on launch on DX11 As long as you dont get too many eyecandy effects [ particle generators ] the game is very playable for sure. Even the "ground effects" maps run fairly good. But considering you got also a better CPU than mine the clock speed on the integrated graphics and the boost should be shomewhat higher [ not much but enough to see the difference ] Edit: I didn't manage to run the game in native fullscreen because for some reason I can't click on the Accept/Save settings... Edit2: Using --waitforpreload or --noasync might boost more of that performance since you got shitloads of memory and bandwidth. Just the loading times might be nastier. But I guess you could maintain a fair 50-70fps even in big fights. Honestly I didn't expect the game to run so good with the Intel HD 630 even especialy on single channel. Tried 1080p but fps sits at 30-40 at entrance of map so I didn't even bother to go further. Edit3: I'm runing all this from a laptop not desktop Last edited by sharky3010#4996 on Jun 13, 2017, 3:39:35 PM

" wow!!! thanks for this detailed experiment you ran! I built the compy last night. I will test things out tonight as I am working, atm. BUT i did luck out- I was a little concerned so I asked my buddies if anyone had a graphics card laying around and someone did so I should probably just stick that in instead of using the CPU but I will try the CPU, nonetheless because I am genuinely curious :) The fact that i have a dual monitor setup might mean that I have no choice to use a graphics card because of the DVI. Anyway, you rock! POE is life. POE is ♥.
