No "scam", and no "crime" (silly to even suggest that). OP and the other person, you were both victim of a-holes, nothing more, nothing less. Go find a guild to do these sort of runs, or make some friends who are active and run with them. Don't expect Global 820 to be filled with perfectly nice and honest people.
