Pfft. Gruest doesn't need to become corrupted to become an enemy.
Heck, if we could target him we'd gladly kill him. Just have the end of Act 6? 7? be the exact same Forest Encampment as last time, just with Gruest able to be attacked and the door to the Old Fields leading to the next act. Enter the camp, tag the waypoint, kill Gruest and keep on moving.
