The Melee Splash change i would like to see, using no new mechanic.

I think re-adjusting and addition of both of these values would be really great to play with.
The 2 bad things about melee splash to me were always 1) how dangerously close you have to get before the first swing and 2) the radius of the splash, almost always made you want to add more AoE increases somewhere.



Weaponrange to affect the targeting range, base radius increase for the splash.

Curious what you think.

E: ignore the fireball part didnt remove everything from the poedb example

This actually isn't a bad idea. If the gem were like this, I wouldn't mind giving up a link for it.

play around with single target skills and tell me how often the outer edge of your swing actually hits the target... hint: never unless you actually increased your weaponrange

people acting like 10 weaponrange hits the edge of your screen

edit: this is 28! weapon range +9 sword +19 frost blades and even this is far from "ranged"

Try using any single target skill at that close range and not dying because you were stormed to death. Without melee splash or a dedicated clear skill, melee just isn't viable. Unless you use skills which either have an AOE or projectile component, you will just end up dying.

that is why I added weaponrange on there? did you actually read my version of the gem?

Sorry, quoted incorrectly, apparently. I meant the guy talking about bladeflurry. Remember, I supported the idea early on in the comments.
i see i'll just leave it.

but yeah additional like 10 weaponrange really is nothing close to the radius (or reach rather) some aoe skills still have and gives you a bit more room and it wouldnt affect the splash radius twice, only its radius would (in case some people would think that)

you just wanna get your splashing hit out without getting pummeled by the whole pack before being able to

i saw someone else on reddit mention the idea of more notables with weaponrange too, which i'd also support BUT cyclone may have to be adjusted doing that (ggg would know anyways :) )
