Does item level matter when corrupting?

Hi, sorry if this is a stupid question, but when I use a vaal orb on an item, does the item level limit the outcomes at all? i.e. what implicits can spawn etc.?

In particular, can I use vaal orbs on the ilvl 1 quest reward jewels (Survival Wotsit) and potentially turn them into other unique corrupted jewels? Or not?

ilvl doesn't matter in the case of jewels.

• No item level requirement
• No tiered affixes
• Rare items can only roll 4 affixes, 2 prefixes and 2 suffixes each
