Need Help with Elemental Reflect!

Hi, I have a L85 Berserker with pure elemental 172k tooltip dps unbuffed, 285k tooltip dps with Ice Golem, Hatred, Heralds of Ice and Ash. With Ancestral Protector it is 338k. With 3 Power Charges, 4 Frenzy Charges as well as Cloak in Savagery and Crave the Slaughter, the tooltip dps becomes approximately 700k+ tooltip dps. This is a crit build with pure cold damage (aside from Herald of Ash's fire damage.)

I have 4500 HP and many times, a single elemental reflect monster proves fatal, even one in Dried Lake! How much HP must I get to survive? I already got Vaal Pact (with up to 4.8% life leech), and my berserker still dies even with Atziri's Promise, a Sapphire flask and Fortify on! I do not plan on reducing damage output...

You might be shots out of luck, then.

If I were in your shoes, I'd carry 2 gem swaps for Elemental Reflect enemies, and simply play more carefully (watch for the Elemental Reflect graphics): Lacerate -> Frost Blades, Melee Physical Damage -> Weapon Elemental Damage. I'm too lazy to math it out right now but it should cut more than half of the reflect damage you take while still retaining a fair amount of damage.

EDIT: Crap, I forgot you're using Sceptres. Hmm... green phys skill gem....

Frenzy + Melee Splash as your swap. Bam!

You´re the typical glass-cannon. If you max out your damage and ignore the defense, well, then you´re going to oneshot yourself over and over again. 4.5k hp is nothing in those dimensions.
What you could do is at least TRY to run with the unique ring "Sibyl´s Lament" which gives you 40% reduced reflected elemental damage if you put it in your left ring slot. it´s damn cheap so get one and try.
The other option is to balance your offense / defense output and get the reduced refl. ele.dmg. passive node.
I'm thinking of getting Belly of the Beast to reach 5k+ HP... Do you all think it'll be enough?
Reaching for 1M DPS with nothing but leech-based survival/defenses.

Wants to avoid dying to reflect without adding defenses or reducing damage.

...sorry, man. The game don't bend that way. If you deal a trillion deepz with no mitigation and bank on busted Vaal Pact instaleech to keep you up, then you're going to gib on reflect critters. An extra 500 HP isn't going to do the trick.

Unfortunatly reflect cant be resolved easy. I done it difrent ways and less you invest more leyers you need. For example my raider do pure cold and it does have 70% dodge and high evasion so reflect is not a problem, even then i still have Wise Oak flaks, 10% reduction from skill tree and fortify. On some of my other characters like Blade Vortex herophant with 45% pure MoM and araund 45% spell block, 5 endurance charges and 2% VP leech is still not inaf to conter reflect unles i use CWDT Warlord Mark.
Traing to use reduced reflect damage take from this new nodes granting 10% and uniq ring 40%, Fortify and even Wise Oak flask may be your only way, with that mach life even VP wont be able to help you if you one shot your self. Stacking reduced damage taken mods like this is most efficient way and you can easy add up to 80%.

Not if you aren't willing to use Sibyl's or be prepared to lower damage output.

The calculation needs to be thus:

A monster reflects 18% of elemental damage. With resistance flask up, you have 81% elemental resistance, so the reflected damage is reduced to 3.42% of elemental damage dealt. With fortify up, this reduces damage by a further 20%, bring reflected damage down to 2.736%. Therefore, to fully sustain against reflect, you need to leech around 2.8% of damage dealt.

However, you also need to ensure that you do not die to a single reflected hit -- if you do, then you will be dead without leeching (since leech is applied *before* reflected damage is dealt). Therefore, you need to compute the damage of a single hit of your skill. Calculate the highest damage it could possibly deal (maximum roll, critical hit, compensating for curses on enemies, shock, etc), multiply that value by 0.02736 (or, if you don't always have fortify up, then 0.0342), and that is the amount of life you need to survive a reflect one-shot.
