The three essence tempest talisman challenge

How in the ever living fuck do you do this. Is it just getting lucky and waiting for the talisman to spawn in the essence monster?

After you get the talisman from the mob that drops it drop it on the ground at the essence monster and he'll pick it up then you kill him.

You can drop a talisman on the ground and monsters will pick it up. I just grabbed a random talisman and left it right in front of the essence monstee and then activated the monster. After a moment it picked it right up.

For bonus points, grab 10+ talismans and scatter them all round the essence monster to make sure it grabs one. Took me like 3 tries before I wised up - monsters are very unwilling to grab them for some reason.

The "monsters grab talismans dropped on the ground" gimmick was originally one of the features that GGG used to promote the Talisman league. There was even a challenge were you needed to kill like half the rogue exiles while they were using a Talisman.
