Does one lose an enchantment when reforging with say an essence of horror?

If I have an item with the enchantment I am looking for and then hit it with an essence will the essence reforge the enchantment or will it just reroll the standard affixes?

Enchantments are implicit mods, so don't get touched by normal crafting (which only alters the explicit mods of the item). It's no different to, say, the cold res on a Sapphire Ring. An essence won't touch it.
