Katananana
![]() Unfortunately I just spent a whole day of my life grinding up for this beautiful Dai-Katana. What a beautiful two handed Katana it was going to be too. Until that horrible fated day that I could equip her. ![]() I know it sounds stupid to build up expectation around this. But I created a bleed based frenzy/cyclone kind of character just for this blade that I found on the ground because it was a Dai-Katana, and for some reason Katana are just rare as heck in this game, and it's actually got huge damage (almost 4 times what I was using with it's passive 50% increase to bleeding targets). I would just really like to see at least a base katana model on this sword. I can't really explain why I wanted to make a whole character for this item but I found her on the ground and she really means a lot to me. And now I'm just stuck with this Bastard Sword that doesn't reflect my amazing sword at all. It has no effects, no glimmer or sheen or anything to represent a legendary item (not that I want that stuff I'm just saying to compensate for it not being a katana at all). And it's literally the best item I've found in game by far and I really just wanted to wield a two handed Katana my mans. I'm saddened by my inability to role play a lone Katana wielding badass who blinds and bleeds his targets out. Last bumped on Apr 14, 2017, 10:20:54 AM

They are gradually working on adding 3D art into the game. I suppose they did a cost benefit analysis and thought it would be better to have the items have their mechanical gameplay impact first, and have the art later, rather than delaying everything just so that 3D art release and mechanical gameplay impact are synchronized.
In the meantime you can skin-transfer Lithe Blades and Exquisite Blades (I forget the lowest tier, but I think it's Curved Blade) to get the appearance of a Katana onto your sword. These sword types have 3D art. EDIT: In case you aren't familiar with the Skin Transfer MTX: https://www.pathofexile.com/shop/category/most-popular#microtransaction-SkinTransferPack10 Need game info? Well shoot. I didn't know that, Thanks for your reply Adghar.
I would still (unashamedly-stubborn) like to add that it should still be using the resources that are currently already in-game. A plain Katana skin for example would be at least somewhat accurate, rather than a placeholder item that doesn't really apply in any way. I'm interested in the development of this game for sure, however throwing money at my problem will actually in this case result in, well, a vanilla Katana. Which is, kind of a weird way of dealing with my disappointment. I was in fact hoping for an epic Katana, but I could settle at least for a vanilla one (Not a bought one, that's a weird place to spend my cash shop money when I decide to invest). So I guess as a suggestion thread that's what this stuff is for at the end of the day, I suppose I was trying to suggest that I feel like it's killin me a little that this thing is in the wrong base class of items and maybe it should be considered as a candidate for attention next time someone works on that kind of thing. I'm not really tripping about it (but I am for some stupid reason). Much love, the game is super dope, that's mah suggestion and I'm sticking to it. :P |

The reason Kondo's doesn't look like a Katana is that the art is for the base-type. Kondo's is an Ezomyte Blade, which looks like, well... the way it looks on your Kondo's. They could have made Kondo's an Exquisite Blade, but when they announced the Maraketh weapons, they said specifically that they had no plans to add unique versions of those bases.
U MAD?
