It's demand. I was also surprised when my stock of chrome went for 11/c with a whistle, and I had to put DND mode to block requests for further 15 minutes.

No, demand don't make currencie go from 17+ to 12.5 in a day or less. It's something else. I just don't understand why people would price fix chrome. Probably they were driving prices up and then decided to lower them after getting enough currencie.

Ok. I get that already. You are hc player and you are better then me.
My guess is a delayed reaction to the actual supply / demand of chromes aswell as some price fixing. Chromes are usually very sought after, and it's not very easy to farm for. Sure you can pick up all linked tri colour items but it's a shore and your inventory fills up fast.

So i'm abit suprised the chroms was valued so low in standard. In hardcore we seen this ratio a long time now. And it's perfectly fine. Since the demand is so kind of high.
It is at what ever people will pay. Poe.trade is not a fixed system. I have no issue selling chrome at 14:1, in game w/ public message board or w/ poe.trade. so I guess it is 14:1? Someone eles will tell you it's 15:1, someone else will tell you it's 17:1 and someone else will tell you it's 20:1.

Refer to above. Your logic is flawed. I sold them at 12:1 in the past but even as the seller I don't think that's very fair. And I sure as hell wouldnt buy at 12:1. I sell at 14:1 and get buyers np. You talk like it's written in stone, happened in one day and there's only one seller etc. It's a fluctuating seller to seller thing. This isn't exalt we're talking about either lol No one has a pressing need to match or fight ratios.

And lol at "scrub" farming. my main character is wearing some 30 exalt in gear now. I sell chrome when I have a spare 300 or so, same with fusing. There will always be a market for lower currency "scrubs" or no.

Refer to what? It literally happened in a day = day before I get deals here and there. next day I get none - check ratios - from 17+ it's 12.5 or so. It's not natural.

Currenie ratio is what currency traders tell you with their offers on poe.trade. And honestly right now they are telling complete bullshit. It's 1:11 and lower already. It's not exalts and it's easier to fix - seems like group of people get enough chrome to successed.

There you go again. " it" happened in a day. No it didn't lol. Chrome is always 12:1 -20:1. Pick a seller. If you don't like the ratio don't buy.

Again, poe.trade is NOT a fixed ratio. It's not 12:1 cuz poe.trade says so. I'm really not following.

Damn, I love these forums.

Demand rising and without the means of supply being altered means lower prices for chromes.

Demand rising and without the means of supply being altered means higher prices for headhunters.

10:110 now. ok. Not as massive as Ex:chaos price fix, but it's still annoying price fix and it seems to actually work.

By the way, do people who trade currencie on poe.trade can be considered flippers?
What's the difference between trader and flipper in this case?

Yes, buying low, selling high is exactly what flipping is.

So all traders are flippers and poe people screw up really badly with wording here?

if you buy something with the intent to sell it, then yes, you are a flipper. If you buy something for your own use then you obviously aren't a flipper. not sure what you mean about the wording part
I meant exactly that. Word "flipper" have negative vibe, while people who trade currencie have nothing to do with negative - they only are doing service for other people, they operate with publicitly known ratios, they don't chase anyone, they don't propose bullshit offers, etc. etc.
