HolyBlackSmith - The RF build with updated items for 2.6 and beyond!
![]() INTRODUCTION Hello all! This is my RF build. The tree is very similar to other RF builds, but mine is pretty different in terms of item selection, skills, and strats. Feel free to ask any questions! VIDEO This is the only video I have so far. It is a standard T13 map run I just did for fun. If you have requests on other videos let me know! *I know my load time is shit and I lag when recording. https://youtu.be/emfoP-XR--E OVERVIEW Pros: + You look badass + This build is super fun + You are pretty tanky + Medium clearspeed + You can afk kill a lot of stuff Cons: - Some map mods you simply cannot do. - Leveling can kill your soul. SKILL TREE Maruader-Chieftain Passives Ascendancy Points: Grab Ngamahu, Flame's Advance first, then Ramako, Sun's Light, then Tawhoa, Forest's Strength, finally get the two life regen nodes. Bandits:Life, Passive, Endurance Charge LEVELING TREES SKILL TREE EXPLANATION Not much explanation needed really. You just need tons of life and life regen. If you have specific questions let me know. JEWELS For jewels simply look for anything with at least 6% max life. From there just fill in any resist or weak points you have. If you feel like you are good, then look for damage. SCREENSHOTS SKILL DPS Who knows, DPS with RF doesn't matter too much. Just get more life. DEFENSE Here are my base stats in merciless with my auras on: http://imgur.com/a/zRD1f Here are my stats with auras and max endurance charges: http://imgur.com/a/XAFSm And here are my stats with auras, endurance charges, and flasks: http://imgur.com/a/no22p GEAR GEAR EXPLANATION
Spoiler
Weapon
This gives us a lot of elemental damage, some attack speed and cast speed. This is pretty standard. Off-Hand This item is absolutely required for obvious reasons! Gives us max fire res. Helm This helm is perfect for RF builds. It gives us insane armor, and scales from our fire resists. Plus, it converts some of the physical damage you take into fire damage..which pretty much negates it! Chest This is the best chest you can get. If you cannot afford it just get something with as high life as possible, but always be looking for this. Buy divination cards or farm them if needed. Gloves You can really use any gloves, but if you don't have the 30% more damage over time mod, you will take forever to kill stuff. It is almost always easier to create your own by using an essence of delerium. Hope for a life roll, if not then craft it. Boots Get defense and life. If you can add in move speed. Amulet Get life, resists, and this is a good spot to get or craft lightning or cold damage for your elemental equilibrium. Although, for my build this isn't a requirement! You will see why in the skills. Rings One of your rings should have the +3 to socketed gems. You will put your purity of fire gem here. This saves you a ton of stress and gear link space, and money! I've seen people trying to use enlighten/empower and all sorts of things..just get a +3 ring with stats that you can use. For your other ring just fill in life and resists. Belt Life and resists! Easy! Flasks No matter what get them all to 20% quality. Health flasks don't help us much since our life pool is so huge. You can get way more benefit from having 5 different flasks you can use all at the same time. The ones I use: - Ruby Flask: Obvious, plus with the Inferno helm it boosts our armor by a lot as well. - Topaz Flask: Getting shocked makes your degen hurt a lot, and this helps vs dangerous lightning mobs - Witchfire Brew: This is just perfect for RF. You get 60% increased damage, curse everything around you with lvl 21 vulnerability, and get a smoke cloud around you. This melts bosses. - Rumi's Concoction: Boosts our armor by a ton, gives us lots more block, and spell block. Just a really solid defensive boost. - Sulpher Flask: This is another just perfect for RF. It boosts your damage by 40% AND creates consecrated ground that gives you 4% extra life regen..I do believe this is even more life regen than health flasks can give you & it doesn't stop if you get to full life! These flasks all popped together gives you HUGE benefits in everything. When you get higher level you can grab the flask nodes up top on the witch side for even more of a boost. Just make sure your flasks have removal for bleeding, freeze, and curse. LINKS AND GEMS Main DPS Setup Righteous Fire + Elemental Focus + Increased Burning Damage + Increased AoE OR Concentrated Effect I use Increased AoE for clearing and swap Concentrated Effect in it's place for tough bosses. With the AoE buff to RF there is no need to run both at the same time. Scorching Ray + Cast While Channeling + Shock Nova This is your boss killer. Scorching Ray doesn't proc your Elemental Equilibrium so it is safe to use. It greatly increases your damage, and shock nova does proc your EE constantly. Use this and everything around you melts. Vaal Cyclone This isn't required but it fits in the build and can help your clear speed by quite a bit. CWDT Setup CWDT + Molten Shell + Life Leech (Level all gems to 20) This takes the place of other builds using an Immortal Call setup. You lose so much defense and life regen when Immortal Call pops. In my experience it is usually safer to use this molten shell setup. You always keep max defense up, keep your regen up, and when Molten Shell pops it heals you for a ton. Mobility Setup Shield Charge + Faster Attacks + Fortify This gives you more defense and moves you across the map pretty fast. Plus if you have Elemental Equilibrium and some elemental damage on a piece of gear this will help your clear speed even more. Aura Setup Purity of Fire: Place in your +3 to sockted levels ring for extra max fire res! Vitality: We don't need determination with this build due to our helm, so vitality helps with our regen even more. Golem CWDT + Summon Stone Golem (Level all gems to 20) This gives you a bit more regen, and a tanky meat shield. This isn't required but it helps. LEVELING First thing about leveling: Prepare to be demoralized. RF is not always a fun build to level. That said, if you can get good leveling gear it will help out a lot. My best tips for leveling this build are to run a Scorching Ray + Cast while Channeling + Firestorm. Other than that, just get lots of movespeed and leveling gear that helps you survive. A huge help for me was to get You can equip it at level 38 and it makes leveling from then on pretty smooth. You gain so much defense and damage from all the mini shrines, and it helps break up the leveling process with more things to do. Any questions let me know! I was debating whether to switch to Templar for RF, or keep this life based one.
The helmet is new to me, I might try that out. I feel somewhat squishy for some reason, I do have 10.3k HP. How do you experience toughness against bosses? Can you tank Guardians for example? Also, what is your current uncapped fire resistance? |
