what does a locked account mean?

It means it is under investigation by GGG support team for whatever reason it could be.

A day or two would be my guess.

Are you sure it isn't locked because changing IP address?

As far as I'm aware, it is only given out for fairly serious account issues.
In most cases the only recourse is to follow up with support as you've already done.
The reason for the lock can be a variety of issues.

A small list might be;
- Account Security
. . Example: Someone has attempted access of the account multiple times without clearing security
- Breach of ToS
. . this could be in the form of hacking/scamming/third party tools/other
- Monetary
. . Examples: Chargebacks/Incomplete Transactions

In all cases, support will provide details through e-mail once they have a chance to get to your ticket.

Oh please... as if you dont know why you're banned.. Most people would be freaking out making 50 threads about it and you just casually ask 2-3 questions?..

They didn't mention being banned. They said their account was locked.

Account "locks" are typically security-related and caused by log in attempts which spooked the security system. Either someone else trying to gain access to the account or someone with a dynamic IP address where the system isn't confident a new IP address is the same person. So they absolutely can happen with the owner of the account not knowing why.

An IP address change would not have a lock that would require the player to email support, a mail is sent to the player automatically which includes the unlock code, this is indicated on screen when they try to get back into the game.

A locked account is the Opposite of a Lucked account

You get a locked account by RMT, Cheating or Botting

You get a Lucked account by doing all those things but since ur a streamer you dont get punished and you get extra RNG
