" confirm you are using WinMTR v.0.92, because you cut off the version numbers at the bottom. if you are then you are experiencing network problems from your equipment. the MTR shows 2000ms from the first hop. | |
Thanks for the reply!
Yes, i'm using v 092. Does bad equipment mean bad router or my PC? |

" usually it will be either the router or modem. " so here is the problem you will want to look for when you are retesting. in the Wrst column it is showing really high numbers. ideally these should be lower. they shouldnt be much higher than the Avrg column. there is also packet loss in the % column. there shouldnt be anything in this column normally except the number 0. 1. powercycle the equipment - unplug the router and modem power for 60 seconds. plug in the modem power and let it fully boot up. plug in the router power a let it boot up. 1a. do an MTR test if this corrected the issue you are done, else move on. 2. unplug power from the modem. connect an ethernet cable from your computer directly to your modem. plug power for the modem back in and let it completely boot up. 2a. check that you have internet by browsing to a website. if you dont the restart the computer. 2b. do an MTR test if this corrected the issue you have a bad router. if not then there is other things to look at..
