Flat dmg that applies to traps?

Hi,

I was wondering why do traps have a damage effectivness scaling when nothing applies to them? For example Anger or Heralds dont apply to traps right? Or is there something that does?

They follow normal rules, if the trap deals spell damage you can use mods that add damage to spells, if it does an attack you will add damage to attacks, obviously enough. However, there are a few skills that do secondary damage (bear trap, detonate dead) so only mods that add unspecified damage will work on them and those are very rare, labyrinth enchants for boots are a good example.

Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

added damage applies to traps just fine. ofc it has to match the damage type as usual (attack, spell)

Sorry, I didnt meant Trap Support, but stuff like bear trap, ice trap etc.

Ty for the clarification :)
neither of us was speaking specifically about trap support. added damage works just fine

ice trap is a spell so all added damage will work except damage that is specified to attacks (like added damage on jewelry)

bear trap is one of the few skills that deal neither spell nor attack hit damage. so only handful of mods will add flat damage to it. enchant on boots raics linked for example, adf ofc added damage from support gems
