Dried Lake, early maps, now what?

Hi,

I just reached this part and have some basic questions regarding maps:

1) Which maps should I run? The highest tier or a tier that I can do in a given time?

2) Which layouts are considered good (Desert?) and bad (Crystal Ore?)? Assumptions are based on D3 evaluation.

3) At which point do I start alch'ing maps? So far I'm only transmuting them.

4) Is it better to kill the boss asap and start a new map or should I clear it?

4a) Is that dependant on factors like the map being rare or having applied certain leaguestones?

4b) Which leaguestones should I use? So far I try to use Nemesis for a chance at Headhunter and combine it with stones that sound like they generate many mobs.

5) Should I treat leaguestones like maps, eg transmute them?

1. My personal preference order:
1). Unopened in the atlas
2). Ones that could drop unopened in the atlas.
3). Highest tier available.

2. Good ones is linear (Atoll, Gorge, Minotaur), or with short side paths (Chimera pit, Ivory Temple). Bad is room labiriths (Cells, Underground Sea, Plaza).

3. It depends of resources available. Usually I start alching from yellow ones, chiseling from ~T12.

4. It's about personal preference. On low level maps full clear could not worth it. On good rare red map sometimes you want to make full clear to maximize map and other drop.

4a/4b/5. No idea about leaguestones.

1: You should run every map atleast once to get the Bonus of it from your atlas, this will be needed once you start entering red maps to get value from them, otherwise you may struggle keeping yourself in high tier of maps. Speed clearing a map isn't that important, find a layout you like and run it.

2: Usualy layouts that are clean and with a good flow, beach is a good example.

3: You only need to transmute and aug maps for pack size until you are getting closer to t10+ maps. At that point it's recomended to start chisel and alch for double pack size, Zizaran made a good video guide about it on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-XnuS0OxX8&

4: While building a map pool you should try to get as many mobs as you can in the instance, if you are on a short timer or very stressed in general, skipping mobs once you see the mob tracker going below "more then" value is a good mark, for eg; "45 monsters remaining" is a ok mark to leave if the boss is dead. If you are a cheapskate then I recommend hunting down as many as you feel like you should. If you invest a lot in a map maybe you feel more needed to kill more creatures.

4a: Yes, as mentioned above, it's very individual to your need, there is no "super optimized exact number" to break down here, it all comes down to your playstyle.

4b: The most popular ones are; Nemesis, Breach, Onslaught, Perandus and Essence. After that Prophecy and Talisman are on a bit lower values according to poe.trade, the rest of the stones are pretty meh.

5: Leaguestones are corrupt, you cannot modify them.
