Dyadian Dawn and other sources of burn

The "Enemies ignited by an Attack burn 20% faster" mod doesn't seem to specify that it applies only to the burn caused by the ignite. Does this mean that if, for example, I use something like Oro's Sacrifice and Spectral Throw + GMP + Ele Prolif to ignite enemies, then hit them with Scorching Ray, the burn applied by Scorching Ray will also expire faster?

It specifically states it affects attacks (= weapon damage only), and it specifically states Ignite..

Sure, but he's parsing it this way:

(Enemies Ignited by an Attack) (Burn 20% faster)

, i.e. he's basically reading it as a debuff caused by an Attack Ignite that then has an effect of causing global 20% faster burn.

If this were Dungeons and Dragons and I were the DM, I'd give it to him. But most likely the modifier is a bad way of wording "Ignites caused by Attacks Burn 20% faster" since faster burn can't fully apply on burns with no duration.

^ Yes, that.

You do raise a good point though, I guess durationless burns like RF or Searing Bond can't really work that way, so it's just shoddy wording.
Only way to know for sure is a mechanics thread post, but I'm figuring Adghar's likely got the right of it. Seems simpler to program than the other way around, just have the belt play with the duration and damage of the inflicted Ignite rather than tracking a debuff and applying it to any number of potential DoT effects.
