[2.6] Need advice on my starting build for legacy league

I have also posted this in the Gameplay Help and Discussion section, but considering that I have like 10 hrs for the league start and not a single answer yet, I am getting desperate and reposting this here...

I was making a build as a ice mage(focusing on the Artic Breath skill) and using the ice ball to level.
So, I made 2 builds :

1) Witch with a focus on ES, minimal life( taking spell dmg).
2) Scion with a focus on Life(taking projectile dmg).
Note that I am planning to play on HC league.

I would appreciate it if someone could go over these two passive trees for me, and tell me which of the two looks better. Also, if I have made any mistakes in the builds, is there any better way for me to build the trees.
