How viable are Vortex Traps now?

I was enjoying playing my Vortex Trapper, it would be a shame if the AoE is reduced to a point that it becomes tedious (even with Cluster Traps).

Any ideas?

Unless I missed something the conversion is trashed. Now that pyre is only 40%, even adding cold to fire support 50% conversion only gets to 90% fire damage. This ruins the Elemental Equilibrium.

Maybe missing something, but I scrapped my ideas on doing it this league unless I figure out something else.
