Note that hitting the swap weapon set key is near instant, correct? So you could use any spell you want, then swap back in armor.

That's exactly why there's a "spells do no damage".

Still allows movement skills, and long range/aoe damage first, then buffed melee with swap back in later. And there are ways to make spells do damage indirectly. And if spells were in effect before swapping armor back in, does this negate them? Spell already in play. Would be interesting to get more clarification on that.

So... not so "simple" is the life of the bear. ;-)

Just wait, someone will make a build with this unique that will circumvent GGG's intention. And then it will be nerfed or the mechanic patched in a future update.

Swapping weapon sets to reduce dex and thus disable this body armor would in effect disable all of the body armor's abilities. And swapping a weapon set is a single key press.

Well, there is that. But still sounds dumb to just use this armor...So while using spells the armor isnt active, and while the armor is active no skills can be used that are spells. Sounds way too complicated.
A bit too late to the party, but am I the only scrub who thinks this chest is OP as fuck?

It brings everything to phys chars with BM and mass endu charges. Witchfire brew for cursing. God mode from lvl 38.
A serious downside is the low stats, but this can be worked around.

Well, I'd never want to try to make a build around it, but an unknown number of players would. And a portion of those players would find a way around the spell limits by implementing what I mentioned. Because the only downside for this armor is that limit. And I've demonstrated how someone can get around it. Now, if it proves useful or not is a different question and topic I have no interest in arguing about.
