Why? are they expensive because they are rare?? I am trying to get a red nightmare and it costs like 15EX???wtf

They're expensive for the same reason other items are expensive- a combination of desirability and rarity. Red Nightmare provides a quick way to both get a good amount of block and get automatic endurance charge generation, so it's quite desirable. On the rarity side, it's an upgraded Chayula unique. Chayula splinters have a much lower drop rate so the breachstones are much tougher to get (price over the course of the league has climbed from around 150c to over 300c), then on top of that you need a character that can run Chayula (most don't have enough clear speed), then you need to be lucky enough to drop a Red Dream and a Blessing of Chayula. So take all that together, and you have the 15 ex price. Plus they'll only be tougher to get once league ends, so people are stocking up, further driving up the price.
