What about point blank and projectile dmg?
|

" Point blank only scales the cold projectile portion of the skill when it triggers the icy wave. It doesn't scale the initial hit at all and it doesn't affect the fire and lightning portions of the skill, so I think that PB and proj dmg in general are quite poor choices for Wild Strike. |

HC viable?

" Thank you, this is absolutely right. " Ele reflect is a big issue, but i guess you can do it. Try to make it more defensively, maybe with Acrobatics, more Life etc. Though, I never played HC, so I'm not the right guy to give you advice for that^^ |

Hey, so I've been farming a LOT of t11-13 maps and, even though the build is very efficient at doing that, I kinda hit a wall when I attempt to tackle tier 15 and 16 bosses. It might very well be just a matter of being life-based, but even with 6800+ hp (39% belly and t1 hp on all my gear), I get one shot a lot (probably should not have tried vulnerability core) also while the penetration stuff is decent in normal mapping, when you get to ele equilibrium/40% res maps, bosses don't die fast enough and you put yourself in danger. Well, one could argue that you should not facetank shit in t16, but hey it's melee and namelock skill...
Long story short, I bought a legacy taste of hate, put in a basalt, a vinktars, and well... eventually switched to pathfinder, because the damage certainly goes a bit down (not so much though) but the survivability is MUCH better. Specced out of frenzies, specced out of acro, got more jewels with life/attack speed/crit multi, and now I feel more comfortable and consistent. Once you get to high end gear, I have the feeling that pathfinder is better rounded than raider, but I can definitely give credit to the raider for the leveling/budget phases. |

" I absolutely agree with you. And this is true for both mapping and boss fighting. Raider is a god-tier ascendancy when you play a ranged class which focuses its survivability and clear speed on high movement speed, solid life / es pool and defensive mechanics like enfeeble / fortify or evasion plus dodge (darkray vectors anyone?). When you go melee, things change a lot in my opinion, and Pathfinder is the absolute winner, because you can take full advantage from the insane defenses that utlity flasks give. Think about a potential wise oak / vinktars / basalt / jade / diamond (legacy taste of hate is a good pick too) setup when applied to Pathfinder's extra flask effectiveness / duration / charge generation and you'll get a crazy amount of defense and offense at the same time. You can have 100% flask uptime for most bosses. Last edited by djnat#4628 on Mar 26, 2017, 10:34:33 AM

Leveling this build now to try out because i am excited to use wild strike for the first time. However im confused why we dont pick up acrobatics and phase acrobatics? Arent they really good to have for a build like this?

You can use it for leveling, I did level up to 90 with a setup including grace / stibnite flask / atziri step boots / vaal grace and it was ok.
Eventually though, when your damage is high enough or bosses start oneshotting you when they hit, you want to switch to VP+vinktars and damage mitigation flasks such as basalt, wise oak and taste of hate. |
