Herald of ice and item rarity question

Hi, im currently using for my MF build a 5L setup with the following gem SA-Pierce-FA-WED-ITEMQUANTITY-ITEMRARITY that is pair with a 4L set up with HoI-Assasinmark-curseonhit thats to generate power charge, and i wonder if the AoE damage of HoI is running my 5L set up?

Herald of Ice's explosions do not benefit from your 5L setup. If you want HoI to have IIR and IIQ, they need to be linked directly to the HoI.

Hi, im not talking about the HoI benefiting from it, what i dont want is the aoe damage from Hoi nulifiying my 5L item rarity and quantity set up.

If your Herald gets killing blows, it will not be affected by the support gems (since it is not linked to them). If you keep the Herald at level 1, you can avoid getting killing blows in most cases, but you will lose some damage. But if you're a Windripper build, you probably don't wanna do that.
