Disheartened

Hey there. This is a bit of a chance to get this off my chest. Bear with me, I don't.... use forums much at all. This is my second post, I want to say? So go easy on me.

Better part of a year to near max out raging spirits, find and level faster casting support, spell echo, multistrike support, melee splash support, and increased duration support... and then get Atziri's Splendour and try desperately to 6 link it all with raging to finally make this cast a viable end game gem for a necromancer build. As other posts in the gem's description have said, you *cannot* play this gem for many of the boss fights because of how the AI prioritizes adds. I had hoped to change that, since the gem was sort of my way to get around a bit of a wrist problem. I spent months trying to figure out a way to help fix the way this gem functioned en masse. It worked as a glass cannon, but was stuck on the armor design before I could advertise it publicly. Atziri's Splendour did not want to six link. But it worked fine on Daresso's during a test run against the Beast merciless. Was... amazingly proud.

Come back after couple months away after blowing thousands of links on Atziri. Killed my desire to continue for a little bit. Good spirits, heard about the 3.0.0 expansion coming up. Wanted to keep trying so I could publish the build before the release. The whole point of it was to try and become comparable to end game damage of other gems by massing damage and duration from fifty skulls at once so even with summoned mobs they could kill bosses. I had been preparing an entire build to finally make these skulls worthwhile. Had a skill sheet, minion build and was thrilled because I was one equipment away from making every skull give 100 mana and life per kill over a splash radius enough to fill entire boss arenas in seconds with fifty.

...

"
Reduced the maximum number of Summoned Raging Spirits to 20, but we have also increased damage as the gem levels up to compensate. It's intended to be a similar damage output but with less casting needed and less effective area of effect.

After finally returning, I see an entire year's worth of planning gone with a patch that supposedly helped make the gem stronger but reduced numbers. Which, threw all that effort out the window. Writeups, skill tree were all useless because it relied on overwhelming amounts of skulls to get past the AI and damage problems. See I'm not... good at the game. I play with a broken wrist that never really healed right, so raging skulls were my way of directing minions to play the game without overly clicking. It took me years to get a character to 79 now- really pathetic, and I don't mind laughing at myself about it. My one hardcore templar died at level 49 or so after I used a hold down of cyclone to travel and attack across the map so I could try seeing what a melee build was like.

I am.... admittedly a bit heartbroken, because I wanted to contribute something a community I genuinely love and hoped to design a new build to reflect that. The people are amazing. The lore is phenomenal. I just don't know what to do now. I'm not going to whine or bemoan after writing this because... I want to find progressive alternatives for the new expansion! Does anyone have any good alternate suggestions of gameplay style that would work for someone who can't really click too much without being able to play for a couple of hours? If so, that would be wonderful.

Hmm. Actually, SRS may still be an option. Obviously, it will take some reworking (instead of focusing on getting as many srs as possible out, you focus on their duration and speed, since getting to 20 doesn't really take much investment)
U MAD?
What about golems with the new 3 unique jewels? Or zombies are getting a new threshold jewel in 2.6. So yeah, I think the other minion builds might work for you, although I don't have any experience with them so I can't promise that that's the case.
Yeah I really hated that change too.

I also hate that there are so few ways to scale minion damage outside of the few nodes, some jewels and stacking auras, wich ultimately forces every minion build into low life with shavs.

I feel like the shoukd be a diffrent way of scaling minions

Whining about a good change? Less of them needed for equal damage is a buff.
At least the Raging Spirits in Haku's Haunted (fill in the blank) missions haven't been nerfed. We can all still enjoy them in their unspoiled splendour. =^[.]~=

If overly clicking is an issue, and SRS is being tweaked, then maybe a totem build could be done seeing as how you can rely on shockwave totem, flame totem, and other totems that can do the damage for you with an excessive amount of clicking compared to other builds.
Pure summon raging spirits is one of the most click intensive builds I have ever played.

Righteous fire could be well suited for you since it deals damage passively without clicking and is quite tanky, you can either run normally around mobs or hold shield charge key to move around.
Thing is rf doesn't actually start to work until level 60-70 but you can use flame totems for example to get there

You like builds with 70 summons? SRS not viable anymore? How about build with 95 skeletons that kills T15 bosses in less than 10 seconds?

Enjoy.
Which wrist? And which hot keys do you have your skills bound to? You may be able to help yourself by modifying your key bindings of your main skills away from your problem wrist. Both of my wrists sucks from landing the wrong Way in my bmx/freestyle days followed by years of computer work. Daily wrist stretching has done wonders.

First off, it is going to be even more important for you to have an ergonomic setup. You can Google this but think everything at right angles.

Next, Try these:

Stand with your arm perpendicular to a wall at arms length. Put your palm flat on the wall at shoulder height with your fingers strait and spread. Keep your elbow strait and your shoulder down and relaxed. The motion you want is as if you are rotating your hand back and forth clock wise and counter clockwise, but don't actually move your hand. Keep your hand flat against the wall and rotate your wrist. This one is good for wrist and carpal tunnels.

Again, with your arm strait out to the side at shoulder height, have your palm flat against a wall or door jamb. Push your shoulder forward gently. This one is good for bicep and pectoral but all your muscles are connected. Keeping all of your muscles loose and relaxed is going to help.

I recommend these for anyone who spends a.lot of time using the computer.
