Unable to change settings

Whenever i try to change any form of settings at the graphics tab my game will freeze until i eventually decide to CTRL+ALT+DEL to open the task manager and force the game to close. I noticed a error would have popped up for PoE telling me there is something wrong and then when i click "OK" it will close the game cuz it crashed (the famous pathofexile.exe has stopped working)

I hope you can help me cuz i tried to downscale my resolution to improve fps, but want it back up again to higher resolution cuz it didnt matter too much at all. Now i try to change it back (or just any setting) it will just freeze the game.

I noticed that this only happened on the current DX9 setting, when i changed it to dx11 it would work fine again

That's odd. Have you tried repairing the client?

The good news is you don't need to use the in-game settings menu.

Here's what you can do;

• Go to Documents\My Games\Path of Exile
• Find production_Config.ini
• Open it with a text editor (I recommend Notepad++)
• Find the Display section
• Change resolution_height and resolution_width
• Save the file
