Why can we use sweetfx but not other programs?
Why are we allowed to use sweetfx to make the graphics better, but cant use "other" programs to make the graphics worse. Ex: turning off particals to make breach playable.

afaik all that sweefx does is changing how directX itself works. nothing ggg can do about it.
--- other tools directly modify file belonging to the game itself. because differentiating between good changes (improve performance) and bad changes (giving an advantage ingame) is too much hassle, it's best practice to generally not allow modifying game files. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

Yea, sweetfx is like adjusting the brightness of your monitor.

sweedfx, reshadefx and the others also injecting a dll into the game by modifiing them first.
there is nothing that lower effects, since you wont be able to remove them w/o editing the ggpk file. Contact support@grindinggear.com to report issues relating to the game or forum. Thanks! Last edited by Doe#2466 on Jan 30, 2017, 5:17:19 AM

Why not make a version of poe which would have many of particles and "fps drop makers" removed?
Or at least make it as a "low spec" option to select ingame or config? Why force having effects that affect performance in a bad way and fixing them, if you can circumvent them by turning them off? I personally liked games in which I had more options to customize my performance. Those things clearly don't give an advantage to anyone and should be at least optional and included ingame.
