Mouse button assignment trouble

I have a mouse (Logitech M705) with the usual two main buttons, the mouse wheel (with tilting), and two buttons on the left side. It also has a kind of 'soft' button below the side buttons which I'm having problems with now.

I had this soft button programmed (through Logitech's software, SetPoint) to send a keyboard character. Worked well for a while. Since sometime in December (I think...it was just after a patch), it just doesn't work.

Since that patch, the side buttons and the soft button don't work if SetPoint is open. The soft button doesn't work at all, no matter what else is open. I'm also going to send something to Logitech about this, but everything worked until that PoE patch so I believe the problem is with PoE.

I've tried other mouse programming software (X-mouse, HydraMouse, etc.) and nothing works. All of the buttons in question work as intended in every other application.

Is anyone else having problems with this sort of thing?

as far as i know... not me.

i have a Perixx MX-3000. i used the software that comes with the mouse to set a soft button to a keyboard key on the numberpad.

from what i can tell after testing some of the keys PoE will not accept all keys. like, it wont accept the 'Num .' for some reason. also, it won't accept the 'click' command from my mouse software which turns it into basically something similar to a left click. this is probably due to them not wanting you to mess with left click functionality.

..but changing it to something like (on mine) 'Mouse 4/5' which is back and forward works. and using normal keys like 'Num 0-9', 'A-Z', and any of the symbols on the normal side of the keyboard that dont require shift key should work also.
I was using 'i'. I doubt that's going to be a problem...but I did test other keys for the sake of being thorough. I tried a number pad key (8) and a couple other letters ('h', 'z' and ';').

Is there anything I haven't thought of?

Am I still the only one with this problem?
I have a similar issue, been playing since closed BETA everything worked well. All of a sudden earlier this year middle mouse no longer registers in game. Its fine with all other applications and never had a problem with it in POE before. I'm guessing it popped up with a patch at some point, frustrating times.
