[2.5] Popcorn Swirl - Insanely fast and fun clears! [Chaos Abberath and Vortex] Endgame viable.

Essentially, this is a Low Life Blight Cast while Channeling Vortex build that also runs Abberath's Fury.

PROS:
- Insanely quick clear speeds.
- Fast bossing speed, great DPS.
- Insanely fun to play, in my opinion. Your enemies sound like popcorn.
- Endgame viable, does maps all the way up to T15 fine. I've only tried Guardians so far for endgame bosses, but it worked out fine.
- Actually makes good meaningful use of the weapon swap mechanic
- Relatively map mod proof. Only thing I really have trouble with is ele-reflect.
- Access to different auras/curses. Allows you to switch based on the situation.
- Chaos, Poison and Brimstone is delicious.
- Flashy
- They just added the new 3D art for Abberath's Hooves and it looks sweeet.

CONS:
- Not cheap to optimize. The mandatory pieces are expensive.
- Low-ish ES. ES is lost on the boot slot with Abberath's. My gear with Discipline only gets to 7.5k. Maybe possible to reach 8.5k or more if I shell out for more expensive pieces.
- You may get addicted to Abberath's Hooves and find it hard to play a build without it, as have I.

Gorge Run. Accidentally left Conc. Effect on the Blight during the clear.

Unoptimized build, level 73ish.

So why popcorn swirl?
Spoiler

Abberath's Hooves + Consuming Dark + Profane Bloom = The glorious sound of Popcorn

Vortex + Consuming Dark = (Poisonous) Swirl

Mechanics
Spoiler

Vortex: Pyre converts all the cold damage from Vortex into fire. The 2x consuming dark converts 60% of the fire into chaos, and also allows that chaos damage to poison. The Vortex and poison is applied by Blight CwC Vortex. Blight, Wither and the DoTs from Vortex all stack together to melt bosses.

Abberath's Fury: The 2x consuming dark converts 60% of the fire into chaos. Poison doesn't matter as much here, as the main goal is to kill mobs as fast as possible, starting a chain reaction with Profane Bloom. Running into a mob head first causes several of them to explode, causing chaos damage around them, causing several others to explode, causing chaos damage around them, and so forth...

Must haves

Pyre to convert your Vortex's cold to fire damage.

4x Consuming Dark

Technically, you could do this with two of them, but then you'd have to pick between dropping either Phase Run (meaning awkwardly walking around mob hit boxes) or Whirling Blades (meaning less mobility during boss fights).

You absolutely need at least two of these, to convert 60% of your fire to chaos.

Shav's is required for Low Life (Pain Attunement), and Abberath's is required for Abberath's. The recommended enchant on Abberath's is "Adds 45 to 68 Fire Damage if you've Killed Recently".

You also need a Green Dream jewel to keep up your Frenzy charges for extended Phase Run

Spoiler

You can probably survive with stacking % Stun Recovery on your other gear (I have not tried this myself), but this amulet is recommended. Prevents stunning, which really kills the vibe during phase run popcorn time.

Rest of gear
Spoiler

The rest is just standard ES gear, and meeting resist requirements. You're going to need to stack as much resists as you can on your remaining ring slot. On your helmet, I would recommend any of the Vortex lab enchants.

Optional: You might also want to invest in a good pair of ES boots to switch

Jewels
Spoiler

Aside from the Green Dream, try to stack as much Spell Damage or Area Damage as you can. Cold and Chaos damage are next best, with Generic Damage and Fire damage coming in last.

[b/]Flasks[/b]
Spoiler

Flasks 1 and 2 are my most often popped together. Get staunching on flask 1, just incase you're hit with bleed. Adrenaline on flask 2 helps you run a lot faster.

Flask 3 is another quicksilver just incase I run out of charges in flask 2. This one is slower, but trades off adrenaline for immunity to freezing.

Flask 4 to up your chaos damage, flask 5 for bosses to up your DoTs.

I've toyed around with using a Dying Sun in this build, but I don't think the additional area of effect is worth the currency.

Core
6L Shavronne's: Blight, Cast while Channeling, Vortex, Controlled Destruction (+Void Manipulation for 5L | +Inc/Conc. AoE for 6L)

4L Abberath's: Added Chaos, Added Cold, Controlled Destruction, Increased AoE

4L or 3L/4S: Blood Magic, Discipline, Anger (+Vaal Lightning Trap)

4L: Blasphemy, Temporal Chains, Elemental Weakness, Warlord's Mark

Consuming Dark Set 1:

3L: Wither, Spell Totem, Faster Casting

3L: Faster Attacks, Fortify, Whirling Blades

Consuming Dark Set 2:

3L: Increased Duration, Phase Run, Enhance

3L: Whatever you want. I have Portal set up here. Alternatively, you can also put a Herald of Ice/Thunder in here to activate whenever you're in Phase Run mode. Available shoots down to like 1% but then again you only really need to cast Phase Run every now and then. When you switch to Whirling Blades, the mana clears back up for Blight and WB.

Curses and Auras
Spoiler

You have access to Discipline and Anger for your Auras. I will generally run Anger to add to Abberath's and Vortex's damage, unless I'm doing a high tier map and I need the extra ES.

You have access to Temporal Chains, Elemental Weakness and Warlord's Mark. I will generally always run Warlord's Mark for the sustain. Running through mobs tops up your ES really easily. I will generally use Elemental Weakness to help Abberath's cut through mob resists, but I may switch to Temporal Chains for harder/longer boss fights.

The passive tree allows for up to three curses to be used at a time, and we want as many up as possible, to maximize on the extra damage from the Malediction Ascendancy node. Two will come from whichever curses you've decided to keep up, and the third will come from your Witchfire Brew. Vulnerability helps our poison DoT, especially on bosses.

I played around with running a Herald of Ice, but it was too hassly, as it put our mana reserve at way too low to consistently spam Blight. And regardless, without the herald, we are at already pretty high DPS. (See gear for more info about Heralds)

Ascendancy
Spoiler

1. Profane Bloom
2. Malediction
3. Wicked Ward
4. Void Beacon

You can switch 3 and 4 if you want more DPS over survivability

Playstyle
Spoiler

Clearing:
1. Pop phase run
2. Pop silver and quicksilver flasks
3. Run, run, run headfirst into mob groups.
(Channel Blight if faced with blues or rares, or high HP mobs. Alternatively, run around them in circles for a few seconds)

Bossing:
0. (Optional) if you need more DPS, switch out Inc. AoE for Conc. AoE
1. Press x, switch to your Whirling Blade daggers.
2. Place down Wither totem
3. Throw down a Vaal Lightning Trap for added damage.
4. Pop Atziri's Promise and Witchfire Brew
5. Channel Blight and enjoy.
!- Whirling Blades for mobility and dodging mechanics
