Can I leech life (ES) with chaos damage?

Planning to play berserker CI with fire->chaos conversion using two consuming darks and infernal mantle. Using Ghost Reaver and VP.

I'm aware that the Pain Reaver ascendancy is very good for leeching off spell damage, but I'm just unsure if I convert 75% of fire to chaos that I can leech off of that chaos damage.

Yes

Leech always specifies its restrictions. If it doesn't specify anything, that means there are no restrictions outside of limitations of the game code.

Pain Reaver simply states 1%/2% of Damage, which means it doesn't care if it's Attack, Spell, Fire, Cold, Lightning, Physical, or Chaos. As long as the Damage is dealt in a Hit, Pain Reaver will Leech based on it.

Outside of special passives don't forget atziri's promise will grant a huge amount of leech based on chaos damage if you want to untie yourself from that class.

The reason I like berserker is because of the innate leech, right after normal lab. That saves me from using a life leech gem and a 5l chest will be sufficient to run with. My planned tree is heavily focusing on ES and chaos damage; with +1 curse (cwdt+temp chains, blasphemy+WM), area, skill effect duration. And it has 40% more dmg to top it off after uber lab. More dmg is more leech :)
