Evasion Vs. Armor

My duelist build is a melee loh, life leach build. I have 2500 evasion with my grace aura on. My cleave has the 24 Loh and 3% life leach (dont know if it is leach or leech?) and most of the time I dont even get hit by the monsters but then when they do hit me I almost get one hit and was wondering if I should convert all my evasion to armor and pick up armor nodes to boost it even higher any feedback would be great very appreciated.
This is my build now.

This is what it would be if I went armor

Please vote on whether to go evasion or armor. Thanks.

i went Iron Reflexes way and i am very happy with it.
It needs to be a boss that hits like a truck for my health to drop to low level in one hit
Needs More Life... whether you go armor or evasion....

Ok, thanks wasn't sure if that was the case, I thought with enough armor hitpoints din't make that much of a difference. Thanks for the input

it's really up to you, both can work but don't forget to get hp it's really good if you want the defense. in the end there is a balance between damage and armor and that's why hp builds are "op" because they take up 1 prefix to be effective were a armor build needs 2-3, so you'll need to be creative for damage if you try this.

also you need allot of armor to make a armor builds work, and more if when you're not running endurance charges, and your dead late game if no enfeeble(if still no endurance). same goes for eva btw(outside the endurance)

And if I went Evasion would I need 3k, 4k and With armor would 3k, 4k work or would I need more and my health at the moment is only 500 so how much health do I need for end game 1k, 2k or does 750 work?

Anything helps.

You should have 1000+ HP at lvl 40.

End game try to reach at least 3K HP if not more. Big HP players reach 5k+ HP.

Regarding evasion, I don't recommend it. If you go armor/evasion you won't have enough armor to mitigate hits and neither enough evasion to get evasion to 50%. So you have 2 options (in fact 1):
- full armor: you can mitigate most mob's damage, big bosses may still be a problem
- full evasion: You will get to 50% evasion, meaning every 2nd hit you will be die in 1 hit you as you have no armor, nothing can save you. This is not an option.

So, bottom line - get Iron reflexes because you can wear 3 types of armor: Armor based, EV based and Armor/EV based. You will get more and more armor.

But your first priority should HP, aim for 200%+ from passive skill tree.

please remember that stuns/frezes are calculated based on damamge recieved vs total health pool. So more health you have less likely you will get stunned/frozen.

Wow din't know that much health was needed thanks for the info will have to invest in some health nodes. And armor does sound like a good idea because more armor is available and better drops can be found.

So does this build work?

I would, any build must have at least +200% life with around +150 max life within the passives or else you will get 1 shot by any boss mob (Brutus comes to mind). This is not just for hardcore, but you will find that dying at high levels becomes a huge waste of time because you lost a lot of experience.

Also, whether you choose to go armor or evasion is up to you, however, for gear make sure your prioities are, in order of importance:
1) Max life
2) Resists (cap at 75 or 80)
3) Armor and/or evasion
4) Damage

Also, do not forget that evasion, just like block chance, becomes good only at very high levels of gear when you can obtain 95% evasion and/or 75% block. If you want math explanations to the concept I will be more than happy to assist. The math makes it so that around 85-90% evasion, each additional % of evasion gives more return than the last because the number of hits you can evade is increasing at a exponential rate. When you venture from 90 - 95% evasion, your increase in tankability skyrockets. High evasion + block must be coupled with passive or active regen. The passive/active regen uses the time you spent blocking/evading to get your health back. Because evading an attack in this game is NOT randomised, you will not get streaks of mobs hitting you, hence evasion is a viable tanking method.

Compared to armor, the linear benefit of armor for each piece of gear you obtain can be felt while leveling hence it is a solid choice to go armor. When you get tons of armor (13k) it will feel like Diablo 3 where your leech or life on hit will have to be enough to counter the damage taken and will mean the differnce between face tanking or kiting.
