Universe Dipper or YACV - Yet Another CoC Vortex build!
Hi guys,
I would like to share my actual build, called Universe Dipper or YACV as you prefer :D This is my FIRST build every published. Have patience on any error I could do. I've played for some months but still I need to learn every aspect of this complex game. The first name is for honoring the Galaxy dipper build who has inspired me. The second name aware that this is NOT an innovative build. -------------------------------------------DISCLAIMER---------------------------------- Let me specify into details, for the sake of clarity: -I did not make any innovation in this build -Still this build would be nice for some people because I collected several ideas together into my style of playing, solving some problems of other CoC builds that I followed. -Is an Universe dipper build also because I've put in this build a lot of stuffs all together, they seems to fit nicely and to give me a good balance between offensive / defensive setup. -This build has more defence than other vortex CoC build, BUT STILL this more of an offensive setup than a defensive one.STILL is kind-of glass cannon build, focused on fast clearing. Do not follow this build on HC. I'm used to die from time to time, still much less dying then other CoC Vortex builds. Reached lvl 91, I think I could reach lvl 92-93 without much hassle, farming tier 11-13 maps. -----------------------------------------END OF DISCLAIMER------------------------------ For the basic CoC vortex guide, I suggest you to read my inspirational build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1707021 MAIN TRAITS:
Spoiler
Pros: -Cast On Crit Vortex Low Life build, runs 5 total reservations spells(two on life, 3 on mana) in a three curse setup: Dual Blasphemy Warlord Mark & Assassin Mark, Elemental Weakness CoI on Herald of Thunder, Purity of Fire, Discipline -7 power charges, 3 endurance charges, 3 frenzy charges for very fast clearing -high damage, fast clearing build -high crit chance as required for a good CoC build -exploit Vortex double dipping burn damage (fire conversion by Pyre) -good layered defence -Can be played as soon as you get a vagan dagger! I switched to this build at lvl 40 (using tabula rasa and a standard vagan dagger crafting crit chance on it). Enjoy levelling with the skeleton of your final build! -Can run hexproof maps with some cautions Cons: -Be aware of not getting stuck into items while cycloning, you can sustain some seconds of mobs hitting with Vaal Discipline up but be ready to move fast from such locations -Ele reflect rares still bring your ES down to 10-15%. -Ele reflect maps are not viable in any case - well, you could try using a lvl 1 vortex to kill monsters with the burning damage, but I would not try it -Be prepared to die times to times with this fast style of playing -some trouble can happen against uber izaro because we don't have our beloved 7 charges up - still you will kill him most of the times. DIFFERENCES W.R.T. other Vortex CoC builds:
Spoiler
Okey, what is the difference w.r.t galaxy dipper and other Vortex CoC builds? -I have chosen to not use Righteous Fire setup. It is too much constly to sustain, in term of % life regeneration nodes, to be really viable. And whenever you have this massive regenaration to sustain it, still you wanna not use it and prefer more regenaration for better safety. So, Rightous Fire is a out for me. -Elemental reflect on the single rare IS a problem from t11+ maps because I oneshot the rare and the rare oneshot me,even with 9k+ ES. -I don't see good defensive setups in other CoC Vortex builds. Everything runs smoothly when you are cyclonying away enemies, but whenever you get stuck into a map object you get annihilated by monsters. getting stuck into object is still no.1 reason of death for me ;) maybe because I'm not still very used to cyclone style of play. Anyway, I liked to stack a lot of defensive layers into this build to get a nice overall defence. -This build IS NOT CHEAP. The bare minimum is a 6L shavronne, then there are some costly items that I bought in the breach league that make this build shine. Move on other builds if you wanna go cheap! SKILL TREE lvl 95: GEAR:
Spoiler
-6L shavronne for going Low Life. I tried The fur Beast but I was not happy by the 5% increased damage taken and above all by the risk of dying even with 75% chaos resist. Shav is a must for LL in my humble opinion. -Two setups as amulet, defensive and offensive.I'm currently running the defensive one. Defensive: Presence of Chayula gives as more ES, stun immunity, chaos res, wonderful maybe BiS item. Offensive: Ngamahu Tiki Coral Amulet for 70% increased fire damage and 1% life regen, exploiting cyclone immunity to stun. -Needs bloodmagic lvl 21 and Enlighten lvl 4 to run all auras. You can give up to Purity of Fire if you don't have enlighten 4 and put a clarity to reach low life, but you will be oneshotted by t11+ ele reflect rare, be aware of running constantly with ruby flask up until that! -MultiModded vagan dagger for getting both attack speed and crit chance ( both needed to increase the number of crit per seconds). If you miss too much crit chance or attack speed, you will proc Vortex rarely. Anyway, the build is still viable with a vagan dagger without multimod, I only recently added this very good royal skean in my equip. -Capping resist is not easy. We have locked rings and amulet, and we need strength crafted somewhere on the equip to use blood magic lvl 21. -Shields needs to have huge ES and some resist would be nice. -I have been lucky to get a nice 40% increased Vortex damage enchant, but it isn't required of course. -crystal belt for added res and ES. -Doedre ring saves us 5 points for reaching "additional curse" notable. -Pyre ring converts our cold damage to fire damage, getting us massive burn damage -Try to get at least 25% movement speed on boots for fast clearing! -Use Green Nightmare jewel in the leftmost part of the tree to get 12 more damage, 3 frenzy charge and 6& dodge up almost all the time! FLASKS:
Spoiler
I use all 5 flask constantly all together. every 3 uses overflowing chalice will be exhausted and so it will fast recover its charges. we can actually run and kill mob packs having always 4-5 active flasks effects. -Overflowing chalice for ES regenartion, 40% increased damage, and above all 100% increased flask recovery rate on the others flasks. We -Silver flask for 20% increased attack and movement speed! HURRAH! -Diamond flask for increased crit chance <-- VERY IMPORTANT for getting enough crit. -ruby flask if you don't run purity of fire or even with PoF if you wanna be 100% sure to not be shotted. -quicksilver flask for running fast as wind of curse!ops, of course! :D -put remove bleeding and freezing somewhere on them. Increased duration is also very nice IMHO. GEM SETUP:
Spoiler
Shav: 6L Cyclone - Cast on Crit - Vortex - Increased Critical Strikes - Controlled Distruction - Concentrated Effect. If you don't have enough crit chance or you have 5L shav, you can give up controlled destruction. Boots: Blood magic lvl21, Enlighten 4, Purity of Fire, Discipline Helmet: Blasphemy , Warlord Mark, Assassin Mark, Enlighten 3 (even 2 will work) gloves: cwdt, increased duration, immortal call, vaal discipline shield: summon ice golem, flame dash, vaal lightning trap ( for giving shock status to boss) weapon: Herald of Thunder, Curse on Hit, Elemental Weakness ASCENDANCY:
Spoiler
I strongly prefer OCCULTIST. Occultist defence is WAY more than elementalist defence, where elementalist only shine on ele reflect mitigation: for the rest Occultist wins way down. I went from Occultist to Elementalist to Occultist again on that character, discovering that even as offense Elementalist is not as good as you can imagine: I miss only the massive bonus coming from the two golems. But we don't need this bonus as we are already blasting everything, we need clear speed and defense. DEFENCES
Spoiler
I was not happy by other CoC Vortex survaibility like I wrote above: life regeneration needs too many nodes to be effective, Wicked Ward occultist node cannot solve situation where we are under siege, Vile Bastion alone is not enough for my opinion. Layered defenses: -We regenerate ES by Vile Bastion node. It works like a charm in crowded situations like breach clearing. -We regenarate ES by overflowing chalice flask + Zealoth Oath. -We regenerate ES by life leeching trought Warlord Mark plus optional boots life leech enchant -We fastly recover ES without being interrupted by Wicked Ward -We have almost always up 3 endurance charge thanks to Warlord Mark, or we have phys immunity by Immortal Call. -cwdt+inc dur+immortal call+3 endurance charge for nice phys immunity -> enough time to move out from troubles -6% dodge attacks thanks to my favourite jewel, The Green Nightmare -We use discipline aura for added ES -We use vaal discipline for added safety against bosses and breach clearing -Still room for granite flask, even if using fast clearing flaks like silver flask AURA/CURSES
Spoiler
We run Low Life with 5 reserved auras/blasphemy/herald:
-Dual Blasphemy Warlord Mark - Assassin Mark provide endurance charges and ES/mana leech, power charges and additional crit chance / damage. -Herald of thunder for third curse (elemental weakness) plus damage boost plus added lightning damage to cyclone attacks to trigger EE -Purity of Fire reserved on life via blood magic gem to avoid being oneshotted by t11+ ele reflect rares -Discipline reserved on life via blood magic gem for added ES OFFENSE
Spoiler
-40k Avg Vortex damage blast every boss in little time, oneshotting most of the boss/monsters of this game -This setup use 50% fire penetration by Elemental Equilibrium effect plus 44% from elemental weakness - 94% fire penetration overall -Ice golem for 30% crit chance, better consistency than pure damage. ;) -Elemental Equilibrium procced by Herald of Thunder adding lightning damage to attacks -vaal lightning trap for socking bosses. Could swap it for decoy totem if you prefer this style of play(unfortunately it needs red socket, I would love it against uber izaro) -Thanks to Green Nightmare we get 20% probability of getting frenzy charge on kill - we have always 3 frenzy charges up when clearing! And we LOVE 12% more damage, 12% increased attack speed for 1 jewel ;) -a very good vagan dagger gives both spell damage, attack speed, crit chance. Try to find it, but it will not be easy because you will need a vagan dagger with attack speed or crit chance on it, to multimod the other missing mods. Tipically on a standard vagan mod you have to give up to attack speed or to crit chance -I run concentrated effect all the time, I don't love switching gems. But how do we fast clear with a smaller vortex radius? The occultist notable Profane Bloom let monster explode, actually increasing the overall "killing radius" of our vortex. BANDITS: Skill Point, Skill Point, Power charge. I will update this build for whatever stuffs I missed! I hope you will like it, I'm glad to hear your impressions on it. Ver 1.1: removed one error (ZO is not needed), lost 5% area damage but gained one more point due to optimized path.
