DISABLE GROUND EFFECTS!

I really dont care about immersion anymore at this stage, just remove that piece of trash from this game, or at least make it so we can tone it down, just blue/red/green/white spots on the floor will do.

And no, I dont give a flying "you know what" if something looks nice on a streamers channel or not.

i5-6500, GTX 960 + 8GB RAM, I don't think this is a toaster in any country.

Burning ground is a straight up FPS loss and Shocked ground fucks up the latency.

"Fucks up latency"?
You might want to read some stuff about internet connections, packets, graphics rendering on your PC and their dependencies with each other.

P.S.
HP notebook (fu***ng, ancient dinosaur, nowadays)
AMD Dual-Core A4-3300M (1.9GHz)
4Gb RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6510G2

No "latency fuck ups" from shocked ground, nor FPS loss from burning ground.
Check your PC.

P.S. for the xTH time, i don't say that there are no issues with this game at all.
I have my own as well, but ground effects should be viewed (reviewed?) in person-by-person cases. (dont know if i said it right, was translating idioms from my language; too tired after work, whatever)
Remember, suffering is convenient.
That is why many people prefer it.
Happiness requires effort.
it's funny because i have an old hd7850 and ground effects have not been a problem since 2013 when chilled ground's effects were much larger

Look, I can see that you're the typical "it doesn't happen to me so your PC is shit" annoying guy.
I only stated the side-effects of those ground effects, the ones that I perceive.
Burning ground trashes my FPS from lingering (note lingering, since I can't get stable FPS no matter what, not even on predictive, still experience drops here and there, haven't tried mapping on predictive yet because I play Cyclone; EDIT: just did a map, no ground effects but still dropping from 160 to below 60 at times, FPS varied a lot throughout the map) ~70 to ~35.
My usual ping is 40ms and when I enter a map with Shocked ground it goes to lingering 75, making the gameplay choppy af and desyncing when I Cyclone through a pack of mobs.

I don't care about your ancient notebook and how it doesn't have those same issues.

I have a gaming rig and I run almost all other games (the optimized ones) flawlessly without dropping below 60 fps on max settings.

Having stuff like these here with such a PC is unacceptable.

Before, around 2014 when I played PoE extensively, I was playing on a notebook with 7670M and some A6 quad CPU, so I could see why I had tons of performance issues (before Lockstep) even though some other games ran smoothly on lower settings, while nothing helped in PoE, max or min settings, the lag was same.

So I figured to try PoE after I bought this PC only to find out that a lot of shit still lags. Also, I've been used to stable 60 FPS in other games so coming here and having it chopped regularly is making my perception much worse too.

It's 2017 and the graphic options are still laughable. Even more shit is cluttering the screen.

I get the feeling that even if they did add graphical options over and above what you already have, even if they further tweak how the mechanics work that you'll still have problems...some people are special that way

indeed

and apart from performance issues, some skill effects are just not so good for players' (especially younger ones) eyes and might even cause seizures (luckily that hvnt happened yet... or hv it?)

edit : guess some might say "just dont use those skills which make you feel uncomfy", i mean even if you dont, your party might do, no?
