[2.5] CI Golem - Necro AND Elementalist - Everything Viable - WIP

Is elemental focus better than concentrated area effect?

Yes - Conc effect would make the "Magma Ball" Move which is what I'm scaling shoot from a small distance, which would drastically slow down clear speed.

I went CI and followed your tree. Sitting at 9.4ES at lvl 80. This is a great build.

Question though, I decided to go Elementalist instead of Necromancer purely for the Ele Immunity since I've heard this will come in handy when you get to T16, Shaper bosses. Can you say one way or another, why you would choose Necro over Ele or vice versa? Were you able to do Shaper using Necro?

Thank you.

The only instance the elemental immunity really helps that I can think of is Phoenix. My golems never died on Hydra, Mino or Chimera. I guess with nasty mods they could die on Hydra. The 6th golem will probably be equalish to the damage you get from Necromancer.

I will say I was theorycrafting a Elementalist Golem Build that used Vaal Fireball with Mastermind of Discord, Liege of the Primordial and Shaper of Desolation. Never really spent enough time. But with all the increased damage etc I believe its Viable in a 4 Link with Elemental Overload if you time it with Pendulum of Destruction it would be somewhere around 450% Increased Fire Damage with EO and 3 more multi's. Might be worth trying! :)

In practice though, golems tear through everything (except bosses) so fast I'm not sure its that useful.

I ran Necromancer for the Offering bonus to you, random minion dmg nodes and Commander of Darkness.

I will add this to the main post. Sorry, I'm not sure why I left it out.

You can run Elementalist for the 6th golem if you want. But, you'd probly run 1 Chaos Golem, 1 Stone Golem, 4 Fire Golems (Should be more damage with Harmony stacking).

In this case I'd only run 1 Eminence.

Edit: Added above.

Thanks Viyro. Someone made a damage analysis on reddit today regarding what makeup would be best for 6 golems, and 4 fire:2 other seemed likely to be the best. (The author left out a lot of stuff so conclusions are questionable.)

10_primordial_harmony_6_golem_damage_comparison/

This is with 10 primordial harmony though. Maybe the thread will have something interesting for you either way.

Yeah, I read through it. My issue was that using any other golem if it didn't have minion life etc attached to it they would just die to phys which would mean you'd constantly be respawning them. (Mino etc), which means you're giving up links for other things.

I've done a lot of testing myself and the damage might be true for single target but again, you're giving up clear speed. Having the Flame Golems themselves constantly Magma balling seems to be way faster for clear. I could see using the two for added damage (if elementalist), (only for single target) but you'd have to respawn as they'd die to phys all the time. Also, keep in mind these golem's don't have empower 4 etc attached to them so they will have WAY less max life.

Don't you need to be running Eye of Chayula for stun immunity?

I don't feel like its needed. Maybe in HC. Getting a groove with your Convocation and how far "off screen" you have to be to pull your golems to you is something you'd' have to get used to. I also use Kiara's for stun immunity.
Updated top post. Didn't realize the Skill tree didn't have EE. Fixed.

Thats -138% Res with EE + Flam + EW.

Updated Top post with an Elementalist Variant as people keep asking :)

Glad I talked you into it with our long-ass conversation last night :p

Good idea to just put flesh offering on the CWDT. Makes this build even easier to tear through maps!

Thank you very much!
I LOVE this build!
I just changed several things.
Double curse without the ring and chayula amulet.
Bit expensive though but worth it.

My actual gear:

Is Spell Echo best skill gem in slot? Why not Minion Life for example? What is better than Spell Echo?

Thanks.
