hierophant+essence=6l in helm
2handers=6l in weapon
non hierophant class + essence=5l in helm

there is also few uniques for casters giving +1/+6 free gem on them.

Thats why Life should be buffed = base life increased highly and increased life per level, that would be REAL change to life builds.

Yeah but you also need multiple defensive options, like a standard cwdt setup, your auras or whatever, some active defenses like enduring cry, movement skill, etc.

Not to that extent. It is usually used by bows, which get away with it easily, because a lot of defense like fortify aren't even usable by them and since your weapon only has your attack you can easily weapon swap for movement.

It is also used by cyclone, because cyclone doesn't do much besides cycloning anyway (if you have to stop cycloning to do anything it feels terrible) and it is used by Warchief Totems again who can't really do much besides placing the totems and wait.
