Eternal card game - it's the good shit (if you ask me)
[wall of text mode engaged]
Eternal is a digital card game thingy, heavily inspired by Magic the Gathering and a chunk of Hearthstone too. It's entirely free to play, and quite generous with the amount of cards and crafting Stuff you get; packs contain at least one rare and 11 common/uncommon cards, there's an MTG-style draft where you keep what you draft and you get additional rewards based on how well you do, things like that, so all in all it's pretty easy to work towards a specific deck. Mechanically it's probably closer to MtG, with multi-colour decks, Fast Spells (instants, playable on opponent's turn), and units restoring toughness/health at the end of each player's turns. Design-wise, they've taken a good long look at Hearthstone to prevent a turn from dragging on too long (the official MtG games can be 'a bit' slow imo). They're making full use of the digital format too: Warcry is a card effect that grants a +1/+1 to the next unit or weapon in your deck; a card with Echo duplicates when you draw it; adjustments to cards (silence, +/- counters) persist in the void (graveyard) and when returning a card to the hand. e; also, when you mulligan, the redraw has at least two power! As for game modes, there's a number of options: - Gauntlet: a series of AI battles, unlimited access, use a constructed deck. Generates some digital coins, some cards. No turn timer, and you can quit the game half-way through and continue later. - Forge: draft a deck through a series of "one-of-three-cards" choices, similar to Hearthstone Arena, and battle a number of AI until you lose two games. You get to keep the drafted deck, plus additional rewards. Pretty cheap to enter, pretty decent returns. - Ranked: ought to speak for itself, play against other people of similar rank using constructed decks. Relatively minor rewards, infinite access (duh :P ). - Draft: the aforementioned MtG-style draft. You open a pack, pick one card, and hand the rest off to the next person. You then get handed a pack-minus-one-card, etc., going through four entire packs in this fashion. Try to make a functioning deck with the cards you draw, and play against people who've done the same. A bit more 'expensive' to enter, but you get a whole bunch of stuff in return. Do real well and you can "loop" it. - Casual versus friends, with constructed decks. I've started playing a couple weeks ago, when it hit open beta and got a Steam release, and I've been having a blast, as you might've guessed by now. Was wondering how many people around here've heard of it/played any. If you haven't, and card games are your Thing, go check it out :) Last edited by Vipermagi#0984 on Dec 21, 2016, 10:27:10 AM Last bumped on Dec 22, 2016, 10:55:42 PM

I've been keeping a close eye on this game for few weeks now, but still haven't had the time to try it out. I watched some people stream it on twitch, and it definitely looks fun. The problem is that I'm hooked on Elder Scrolls Legends (same developer as Eternal) at the moment, trying to hit the legend before season ends, so i probably won't play it before new year.
