How to "fix" trading in a way which should please most people
This doesn't solve the biggest problem, besides the incorrect online status listing, of the current system: People manipulating poe.trade / Poe.Price with lowball listing that they never intend to sell.
All this does is bother them a little more. All we really need is the poe.price interface put in game with listings being automatically fetched from Sales tabs. Once people are forced to sell that Bino's for 20c (hypothetical listing) we'll see an end of them and the system will largely clean itself up. (Yes, we'll have a problem with buy bots, but it's not like they don't exist now. And it will bring the logs of stuff within easy range of GGG to do something about them and RMT operations.)
if you list item like shavrone 3 times in a row with b/o 1 C and dont sell, that item is banned from that new trading system for some period of time.....imo that would solve price manipulating EDIT: fckd up quote :) wanted to quote first part not the other one :) Last edited by BoondockSaint#2040 on Dec 13, 2016, 7:17:16 PM

I'm still a fan of a player vendor at the hideout for fixed price buyouts. Hideout is online when the player is online, vendor inventory gets indexed in the API and you can search it through an in-game browser or poe.trade.
Premium tabs could be moved to the vendor or broadcast through the API as currently possible. API has a vendor and not vendor tag to allow filtering on poe.trade. Or keep them separate if you want to level the playing field for trading more and to counteract hideout crowding for prolific traders. Needs a black list function to filter out vendor trolls that put their vendor in a cage you can't reach, though. While of course theoretically possible, botting this system will be more complicated than purely using a predictable UI for trade transactions as you will have to go to the HO and find the vendor, which can be at a variety of places. Why not just have a 2 part system - one fully automated auto buy/sell for low? value or stuff you dont want to interrupt maps for and and the current mechanism like poe.trade for the high value/negotiated items.
This way I can have my 1c/1alc/2c stash tab and if you want whats in it, you get it right away and I get the cash - no problems (i.e auction house/shop). Currency should trade this way as well. Everything else is as is currently - with the QoL feature of accurate /DND/AFK/online reporting. Someone puts their Shavs in the shop for 1c - tough. If they're listing it on poe.trade at 1c be dubious because why would anyone voluntarily stop what they're doing for small change? Ultima Online (yes i'm that old) used to have vendors that you stocked up and people could browse and buy from - they'd be a bit more complicated to do in PoE but the concept is valid - just need to have a way of finding out what was for sale where. |

Just an idea.
Why not after the 3x price fixing attempts have the account in question Or if you want to take it to extremes the IP address associated with the account be unable to post items and all existing items that are currently posted removed. This could be on an increasing scale 24hr first offense, 48hr second offense, 96hr 3rd offense Ect... Just for clarification 3x decline when the listed Buy out is met / offered. Even if the " Decline + Counter offer is used" Of course this would have to be for the same item. 3x For example shavs for 1c Thoughts / comments ? |

the suggested system trivialises (automatises) the selling process.
which isn't really solving any of the current problems the game has as the players selling items far succeed the players buying items. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

the system you have proposed would not save us for scammers, price fixing, afk and so on.
- People would still be able to list items for the undercut prices and never sell them, to lower the market prices. - People would still flip items like there is no tomorrow (and I guess I would make it even easier). - Bots would still work for sales, people would set them up to always accept the buyout price and decline all the undercut prices people may offer. Only difference would be a small QOL to the current fucked up trade system. What we need is AH in some sort, cause the player interaction is pointless and meaningless in this sort of games. 99% of the time you dont give a shit about the person you buying the item from, nor the seller gives a shit about you. There is no player interaction in trade, unless you count the "press ok", "put item/currency" and "press ok" actions need to trade right now. YES I support the game, NO I don't agree with many GGG decisions
Lab still sucks balls. I miss Zana already. |

This dosn't fix some of my major issues.
*) My chat is buggy. People can talk to me in guild chat, but not in msgs. Intermittently. - Would I still miss out on sales randomly with this new system? *) 'smart sniper robots', because the API is out there/3rd party will still happen. People have roBOTs that know the 'top gear stats' what can be 'recrafted' even working out a 'value' on it vs other leagues/top builds in ladders. - As long as 3rd party robots can index and snipe/know what to snipe faster than shows up on poe.trade, this an't going to help that side of it. *) Price fixing. - Untill people have to sell the item for the price listed, and not just fake it. This is going to keep on running rampent. Band Aid Fix - As GGG say how good they are for not ever going to add AH... A app, so can chat/trade out of game. Hell even that cross server/instance trade in game would make life better. Another thing, better tooltips. Having to 3rd party all yellows to see what they 'could roll' what's T1,2,etc what's good T1 rolls. etc. Also another huge pain in the 3rd party, not playing PoE ass. |
